Great news reported on the progress on the road to for Canadian Concrete Masonry Producers Association:
✅Block producers throughout Canada and US are focusing on ways to reduce embodied carbon.
✅ CCMPA producers recently released the second version of their Canadian industry-average EPD, proving notable reductions in GWP from the first version.
✅80% of Canadian block producers are using portland-limestone cements (GUL).
✅ Industry research into carbon uptake by Concrete Masonry Units shows that it happens at higher amounts and much quicker for CMU that previously thought. Research on this is nearing publication through ASTM.
