AFG was proud to celebrate the completion of the National Park Service Sheriff's House Restoration at a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony held in New Castle, Delaware.

Goodrich (WPC-C) CCM, and Construction Managers, Tom Johnson, and Peter Solor, LEED AP, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to highlight the opening of the new welcome center.
The $10.2M Sheriff’s House Restoration began in January 2022 and reached completion in time for National Park Week in April 2024. The House was constructed in 1857 on a circa 1793 jail site. It is all that remains of Delaware's first prison system and is now a key feature of Delaware's First State National Park.

AFG | Historic Preservation is key in retaining the authenticity and history of a structure, and for preventing the loss of irreplaceable heritage that creates a cultural, educational, and aesthetic legacy.
The National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) coordinates and supports public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect America’s historic treasures. AFG has been providing support services to NRHP buildings on a range of projects, by using cutting-edge methods of preservation and rehabilitation.
The care with which AFG’s Historic Preservation experts approach these projects allows us to ensure that these structures are retained for generations to come. Our team has the additional knowledge required to rehabilitate, preserve, restore, or reconstruct a historic structure to its fullest potential with limited impact on the original fabric and design.
AFG's Bring Your Child to Work Day 2024 was an absolute blast! For the 6th consecutive year, AFG Marketing created a fun activity pack to send to our AFG Juniors unable to join their parents on project sites.

We "deputized" 21 AFG Juniors to join in the fun to learn all about the NPS Sheriff's House Renovation, and unlock their creative brains to build their very own combination lock.
