A confluence of pent-up demand, a strong economy for many, low production in 2020, the enormous demand from the Texas freeze, and supply chain disruptions in overseas shipping that continue to reverberate, are all combining to create this difficult inventory situation for our industry in 2021. As if the chlorine shortage wasn't enough! We will do our best to keep your systems running, and to procure what we can.

We have had VS Pump drives sitting at the Port of LA for over a month. We just started shipping some VS pumps again yesterday, so I take it we got some of those last week for build out. This is going to be a tough year. We are up over 120% on shipments for the year, we are up 300% on shipments for the month, but the bookings are up 599% YTD. Even with more than doubling production, we cannot meet that level of demand in a timely manner. According to the Pool & Spa news latest article I read, they are estimating Texas needs 200,000 equipment sets now to repair all the freeze damage. It's insane.
Based on what I am being told by Distributors we are doing better than anyone else. You should definitely get orders in with your distributor now for anything you think you will need for the season. The crazy demand seems to be hitting all home improvements. I had to buy a stove last weekend, 98% of the models were on backorder until the end of August at Lowes..
I get back order reports, daily shipping reports & new order lead time reports so I will always be as transparent as possible on any items you are looking for. Sorry for the frustration. "

Low water levels in a pool can damage a pump by allowing the pump to run dry. Too much water on the other hand will not damage equipment, however it will reduce the effectiveness of the skimmer weirs. If your pool water level is up to the coping stones, then draining it down to a level that allows an air gap over the weirs will allow the surface to be properly skimmed. If you are one of our weekly or bi-weekly customers and are uncomfortable with using the filter system to properly lower the water, we will take care of it for you at our next scheduled visit. It may be nerve wracking to look at it so full, but it won’t hurt anything in the long term to leave it full.

1) When water gets high in the pool from a rainy day or two, or twenty, it is helpful to lower the water so that the skimmers can skim the surface properly. We will be doing this as part of our service for clients with cleanings scheduled this week.

2) As we transition from early spring to early summer in one day, and skip a genuine spring almost entirely, Judicial and Congressional customers will want to keep an eye on their chlorine readings. Both heat and sun will increase chlorine consumption, so pool owners may experience a sudden drop in chlorine levels. Please don't head into the holiday weekend with, in the words of Seinfeld, "A human bacteria frappe"!
