At J2, community is more than a word — it's the driving force that keeps us moving forward. We take pride in being a part of our local communities, one of those being the community, and events such as America's 911 Foundation Inc.'s yearly memorial bike ride serve as an excellent example of why.

Today, we watched hundreds of motorcycles roar through Leesburg to honor the heroes, volunteers, and victims who were forever impacted by September 11, 2001.

As we bid farewell to our talented summer interns, we reflect on their incredible journey with us. They didn’t just observe from the sidelines; they gained hands-on experience visiting our project sites with Principals Jim Bishoff, PE, and Bob Brown, PE. We wanted to ensure they saw our projects come to life before their summer ended.

Last week, our teams dove headfirst into the Olympic spirit! 😎 🏊‍♂️

From fierce bridge-building battles with popsicle sticks to enjoying red, white, and blue ice pops, streaming the Olympic games, and testing our knowledge in lunchtime Olympic trivia, it was a fun week of friendly competition and camaraderie.

We're also proud to see our offices adorned with flags representing the diverse backgrounds of our amazing employees. Together, we celebrated unity and the thrill of the games!

Edeylis joins our Transportation team as a Project Engineer. Originally from the vibrant city of Yauco, Puerto Rico—known as the "City of Coffee"—Edeylis brings a wealth of enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn.

When asked what she's looking forward to in her new role, Edeylis shared, "As a new hire, in a different state, I want to learn about the structure and system of how transportation projects are developed and designed. I also want to excel in the use of OpenRoads and develop a better knowledge of project management."

Edeylis chose J2 because "I saw a great opportunity of growing professionally and personally. I also left my interviews with a strong impression."

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, diving into arts (especially drawing), and indulging in her passion for music—especially live music!

We had a great time at our annual J2 summer outing to the Washington Nationals game this past weekend! ⚾ Our team and their families came out to enjoy a beautiful night of baseball. From cheering on the Nats to sharing laughs and great food, it was another memorable evening for all.

Welcome to the J2 Family! We are thrilled to announce that Christine, Jaylin, and Kevin have joined our team.

🌟 Christine, is a proud Penn State graduate! She says she is eager to gain hands-on experience with the different technical aspects and concepts related to road design. “This role allows me to strengthen my skills and knowledge through real-world projects, enhancing and contributing to safer more efficient transportation systems.”

🌟 Jaylin is a recent Virginia Tech graduate who passed his FE test (YAY)! Jaylin says he chose J2 for “the People First attitude and the community feeling amongst the team.” He looks forward to working on projects that help improve the lives of the public.

🌟 Kevin has joined our survey team and is excited about returning to the industry as he enjoys drafting. He said he chose J2 because he likes being part of a growing company with a small shop dynamic. When not at J2, Kevin enjoys the outdoors or restoring old vehicles.

Our team was on-site last week performing the substantial completion site visit at Watson Mountain Middle School in Leesburg, VA. J2 is providing construction administration services following the design for this new four-story middle school, opening this fall!
