Another spectacular journey on May 22nd at Independence High School where we successfully hosted our 14th Annual Recital. We were able to showcase the teachings of my guru Sri Souvik Chakraborty and it was the first show with live musicians on stage. Thanks to all the musicians, parents, and students for making this event as wonderful as it was. Best wishes to Sarika and Priyanshi for completing their Manch Pravesh. Another spectacular show by Jhanak’s very talented students in India Heritage - “Dance Masti” competition on May 12. They won 2nd prize (junior category) and 3rd prize (senior category). Congratulations girls. Very well deserved!!!!

It was another mind-blowing annual recital by Jhanak students. It’s a treat to see how these talented students are building themselves into established dancers and making me so proud. Your hard work and dedication were distinctly visible. Khudos to you all and your lovely parents for making it a grand success....

Please join and support Jhanak Dance Academy's highly talented students as they perform on January 20 in IDEA's (Indian Dance Educator's Association) 25th Anniversary in Blackrock Center for the Arts in Germantown, Maryland. It is a rare opportunity to see very talented students from all other major classical dance schools in the DC metropolitan area. Jhanak's students are proud to depict how the past has forwarded to the new era of contemporary form of Kathak keeping the essence of pure dance portion intact. Hope to see you all....

Jhanak's IDEA Performances

Jhanak’s students delivered yet another amazing performance at the SV Lotus Temple. The students flawlessly displayed Kathak in front of large audiences. Jhanak was the only dance school that participated in Kathak category. As always, great job! Another proud feeling!!!

Congrats to Olee and Sarika for winning many prizes in multiple categories in the competition. Olee won second and third prizes in Kathak and in dance of India and Sarika won first prize in dance of India. We are proud of you. Keep it up!!!

The younger Jhanak students performed at Durga Puja and at the Ashburn Diwali Festival. Great performances by the little cuties and looking forward to seeing many more awesome dances from these talented girls.

Jhanak now proudly offers degree courses from Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, India (www.pracheenkalakendra.org) in addition to degree courses already offered from Padatik Dance Center of India.

Jhanak is finally all set to start Kathak/semi-classical dance classes in the Ashburn studio. The spacious and gorgeous studio is very conveniently located in Red Rum Dr. We are very excited to serve the communities in the Ashburn/Leesburg area. Attached are few photos of the studio in Ashburn. The enrollment for the Ashburn location is now started. The class will start from September 11th.

Jhanak had a spectacular annual dance recital on 17th April. All students worked hard to showcase their talents. They were fabulous. No wonder why the audiences were spellbound with their each and every performance. Sharing few clicks from the recital. We are so proud of our students.
