Amazing thunderhead on our walk through the park last night. It was the calm before the storm!
My daughters and I found this little parakeet in the sheep barn around 5pm in Friday. I’ve never seen a parakeet at the farm. Has he escaped from someone’s home? Posting here in case someone is missing their parakeet.
Do you take volunteers?
A GREAT day to be at the park today.
An NYU student made a site that lets you put #BerniesMittens at any address :)

Thank you for putting on an incredible light show. Our family loved it!
Gordon's Grill will be happy to make cakes and pies for anyone who would like them for the holiday season. I know we haven't had the concerts, so no one has had any coconut cake this year. Now's your chance.
I'm hoping to visit Wednesday and see Rain. Are we allowed to get near the cows?
All of you Hokie Fans out there should help sponsor Hokie in this event! Frying Pan Park is a wonderful park in Northern Va that is a great place for kids and adults to see and interact with farm animals. My daughter and her husband are Hokies to the core and Noah and Kasey have always loved going there!
We went to Frying Pan Park yesterday and my son took a cute picture of one of the pigs napping :)

Cow Painting

This was NASCOW 2021 winner Evee getting painted for the race. The paint will wear off and is not harmful to the cows.

Evee and the other cows and farm animals are owned by the Friends of Frying Pan Farm Park, not the county park system. The friends hold fundraisers like NASCOW to pay for animal feed and vet care, and support farm operations.

The friends are accepting NASCOW donations for a few more days: https://friendsoffryingpanfarmpark.salsalabs.org/Nascow2021/index.html.

Here's a behind-the-scenes look at the shooting of the 2021 NASCOW race. Special thanks to Fairfax County cable TV Channel 16 for covering the race, along with the Connection newspapers.

The Friends of Frying Pan Farm Park own all the animals at Frying Pan, and hold events like NASCOW to raise money to pay for animal feed and vet care, and support farm operations.

In 2021, almost all of the friends' annual fundraisers were canceled due to the pandemic. If you can help by sending in a donation, you can still give to the NASCOW fundraiser at https://friendsoffryingpanfarmpark.salsalabs.org/Nascow2021/index.html.

Thanks!

If you were at Frying Pan Farm Park's 60th anniversary celebration on Saturday, you might have seen these images around the park. They were part of the scavenger hunt, and to earn a chance to win a prize, you had to figure out the message they spelled out.

It's a famous six-word Shakespearian quote. Can you guess what it is?

Last year former Frying Pan Farm Park employee Chris Van Vlack was the NASCOW race announcer. This Friday he's back by popular demand! Listen to how he set up last year's race, and you'll see why he's the man for the job!

Look at this gorgeous playground! It was beautified by some volunteers from the Oakcrest School in Vienna, VA. About a dozen girls came over to Frying Pan Farm Park and mulched the playground, pulled weeds and spread bluestone. Thanks so much to Oakcrest School's industrious students!

This is one of two playgrounds -- plus a toy tractor area -- that families can enjoy for free at Frying Pan. The park is open every day and there is no admission fee to visit. Questions? Email [email protected].
