While filing bankruptcy is not something most people want to do, it can be something that is the best financial decision for your situation. Occasionally, filing bankruptcy more than once may be necessary. You can file bankruptcy more than once. In a Chapter 7, you can receive a discharge once every 8 years, and in Chapter 13, you can receive a discharge every 2 years.
If you get discharged through Chapter 7, you have to wait 6 years before obtaining a discharge through Chapter 13. The time period is from filing date to filing date. If your prior case was dismissed, there is typically no waiting period to re-file.
Taxes must filed and paid today to avoid penalties and interest. If you cannot file by tonight, file for an extension. If you expect to owe, pay as much as possible today to limit penalties and interest. Any extension is an extension to file, not pay.
Make credit card payments more than once in a billing cycle. If you can afford it, pay down your bills every two weeks rather than once a month. This lowers your credit utilization and improves your score. Even if you pay off the card every month, making an additional payment will reduce the balance that's reported to the credit bureaus. Credit utilization is 30% of your credit score.

Some times credit cards and debit cards are seen as interchangeable; they serve similar purposes (to pay for expenses), but they are really quite different in how they work.
What's the difference between a credit card and a debit card? Debit cards are ideal because you're using money you already have in your account. But credit cards offer better fraud protection and other rewards.

“I have never met a lawyer where she is very honest, understanding and be in touch with a client. I would send her an email and I will get a response less then 30 minutes which for me is amazing from previous experiences where the lawyers never responded. I wish we could have more lawyers like her. It was my first time and she had explained everything to me from A to Z and even if I had questions she would keep answering me, So Amazing thank you so much for making this process easy for me.”
Not filing your taxes is the worst thing you can do if you owe. The penalty for not filing taxes (also known as the failure-to-file penalty, or the late-filing penalty) usually is 5% of the tax you owe for each month or part of a month your return is late with a maximum of 25%. The IRS will also assess penalties and interest for failure to pay by the April deadline. Any extension is only an extension to file, not to pay. So if you file an extension and pay your balance prior by the extension deadline, you will avoid the failure to file penalty but still will pay failure to pay penalties and interests.
If a relative or friend has a credit card account with a high credit limit and a good history of on-time payments, ask to be added as an authorized user. That adds the account to your credit reports, so its credit limit can help your utilization. NOTE: this tip does not help wIth credit scores for mortgages. Most mortgages companies use their own system that disregards most authorize user accounts. However, these accounts can help you with credit card accounts.

You can get your credit back on track the fastest by catching up on Past Due Accounts. If you are late, but pay it off a missed payment within 30 days of the initial due date, it may not even hurt your credit report. If you are more than 30 days behind, You can still catchup to limit the impact. Catching up stops further late payments from being added to your account. And the more time that passes After you catch up, the less impact there is.

It is possible to owe a debt that does not appear on any of your credit reports. While most debts are reported to at least one of the credit agencies, there is no requirement to report. Even if a debt was reported but later removed, it may still be collectable. Removal of a debt from a credit report does not impact the ability of a creditor to collect. The ability to collect on a debt is based on state and federal law.

Hard inquiries can adversely affect your credit score for anywhere from a few months to two years. Hard inquiries occur when you apply for a new credit card, a mortgage, an auto loan, or other forms of new credit. You want to limit hard inquiries as much as possible. If shopping around for low interest rates (i.e., for mortgages and car loans), make sure to do all applications within 30 days (so they all count as one inquiry). Fewer hard pulls means less impact on credit.

We are so often able to help people when they are dead long with some of their most difficult financial situations. “When you are in financial distress it is difficult to think clearly and make good decisions. That, in addition to not understanding a legal process complicates matters even more. Ashley explained the law, outlined in clear language the steps in the process that where needed to be done. She was reassuring, articulate, knowable and effective. Ashley made the process so much easier and gave me peace of mind in a stressful but successful outcome. Phone calls and emails were returned without delay. I'd trust her with anything, do not hesitate to call her.”
