Glimpse Into Paradise Iris Garden

The Iris bloom season has begun in South Oklahoma!

This has been a rough Iris year! Late summer last year I moved from Texas to Oklahoma and transplanted a few starts of the hundreds of varieties I had and also planted about 100 new ones. They grew well and bloomed well but then the rain came followed by heat and rain and heat. Then bacterial rot began and spread all through the Iris. In the past I dealt with it occasionally but never like this year. I lost 75 percent of everything!
I am making changes and assessing what can be done with my new location and soil.

This week I planned to dig and sell Iris that my brother is no longer able to care for. However all the name tags are no longer there so I cannot sell them. I did take samples from a past year map but not with certainty enough to sell. I am sorry, since I told some of you they would be available.
There is always next year! I hope it is better!

We moved from Texas to Oklahoma and took a sampling of hundreds of iris and daylily plants. Now they are all planted with markers and labels!! A lot of work! Now just the weeds need to be tackled!
Looking forward to spring. Hopefully they will do well enough for a few to sell in late spring and many more in future years.
I am sure it will be a while before they increase to the 1/4 acre they covered before!

I keep getting this question so let me answer it here: The last of May I post an album with pictures of the iris I have for sale, it has the name of the iris on the picture and the quantity for sale. (See photo example) If you want one you comment, like “1 please”. When you have selected all you want message me on messenger and pay by PayPal and I ship them to you right away. You have to be fast though because in a few days they are usually all sold out!
