A letter from our President Chris Morhardt.
On behalf of the Board of Directors for the United Way of Cherokee & Clay Counties, we are writing to inform you of our decision to cancel the 2021 Charity Golf Tournament. After much discussion and deliberation, it was the unanimous position of the Board and staff to exercise an abundance of caution as it relates to the current Covid-19 concerns in our community, and we want to make sure we do our part to maintain a healthy and safe environment.
As you are aware, while we all always enjoy a good golf outing, the intent is to raise funds for the United Way of Cherokee & Clay Counties, which goes directly to our partner agencies listed below.
We would sincerely appreciate your consideration of a heartfelt donation in lieu of the golf sponsorship to help support our partner agencies. You may contact our office or mail your checks to:

Our church community is located in a county in which according to federal guidelines, 31% of our children are classified as at risk and for the 2010-2011 school year of the 1320 students attending school, 675 qualified for free lunches and 105 for reduced priced lunches (Data supplied by Manna personnel in Asheville on May 6, 2013). This is to say nothing of the children who do not attend school.
