Junity is excited to announce its partnership with The Momentum Foundation- a Hartford, CT based nonprofit organization - to launch its pilot program, The BoardRoom Initiative! Learn more about The Momentum Foundation here: https://lnkd.in/e64dbj-v
The BoardRoom Initiative assembles a group of career-field experts to serve as a personalized advisory board to each student based on the student’s self-identified interest in Business Entrepreneurship and STEM career clusters. The BRI will use the Junity App as a space for youth, like Francesca, to become the “CEO” of their life and career path by pairing them with mentor advisors and exposing them to the various skills, training, and professional opportunities through job shadowing and internships. Getting ready for freshman year of high school? Here are a few tips to start now to get ahead and plan for college:
1. Start creating a list of your accomplishments, awards, and other achievements- This will make it easier to find information when you are applying to internships or filling out college applications.
2. Get involved with extracurricular activities and community-based organizations that interest you- This will help you find out what you enjoy, and assist you in knowing what to emphasize on future college applications.
3. Talk to your college counselor to find out what you should be doing NOW to meet graduation and college admissions requirements. -This can include making a list of colleges you are interested in, and using that as a guide to choose classes and extracurricular activities. You can create a plan for the next four years to ensure that you are moving in the right direction.
