Baby Bouncy Time - Reading Colors Your World - Summer

Hello Babies, Parents, Caregivers, Grandparents, Siblings, Aunts & Uncles and other guests. Bring some crayons, colored blocks, or colored scarfs for the color bounces today. Have quite a few children in the home... have them sit in a circle to pass and hold the crayons while the bounce song is sang. It's a great day to discuss the rainbow, all the colors, how to spell them and attach the words to the colors for the older ones. Have fun with colors and create conversations with the little ones and tell them about other things that have the same colors such as red is for apples and green is for broccoli. Grab some unique dictionary words to broaden their language skills this summer. Their vocabulary will grow when you read to them and show them how to speak in full sentences. Add words to their one word to communicate sentence structures and enhance their skills. Reading twenty minutes or more a day is great for the whole family! Those super tiny ones will enjoy your voice as you read one of your books as well. Quality time can really be fun and simple.

New Book Advisory: Three Missing Days by Colleen Coble

Available: Fiction, Regular Print

Series: Pelican Harbor; #3

"A chilling murder.

Chief of Police Jane Hardy plunges into the investigation of a house fire that claimed the life of a local woman as well as one of the firefighters. It’s clear the woman was murdered. But why? The unraveling of Jane’s personal life only makes the answers in the case more difficult to find.

Her son’s arrest.

Then Jane’s fifteen-year-old son is accused of a horrific crime, and she has to decide whether or not she can trust her ex, Reid, in the attempt to prove Will’s innocence—and whether she can trust Reid with her heart.

Her stolen memories.

Three days of Jane’s past are missing from her memory, and that’s not all that has been stolen from her. As she works to find the woman’s murdered and clear her son’s name, finding out what happened in those three days could change everything.

It all started with one little lie. But the gripping truth is finally coming out."

Youth Reader Advisory: 5-Up, Trilogy

Exodus by Julie Bertagna

Julie started her career as a teacher and freelance feature writer for major Scottish newspapers. Now a powerful author of fiction for young readers, Julie was inspired by an article about global warming. Exodus is published in several languages.

"Mara's island home is drowning as the ice caps melt and Earth loses its land to the ocean. But one night, in the ruined virtual world of the Weave, Mara meets the mysterious Fox, a fiery-eyed boy who tells her of sky cities that rise from the sea.

Mara sets sail on a daring journey to find a new life for herself and her friends - instead she discovers a love that threatens to tear her apart ..."

"Less than a hundred years from now the world as we know it no longer exists. Cities have disappeared beneath the sea, technology no longer functions, and human civilization has reverted to a much more primitive state. For the residents of Wing, an isolated northern island, time is running out. As the sea swallows precious acres and threatens to claim their very lives, they must look beyond their tiny island home for refuge. Only fifteen-year-old Mara has the vision and the will to lead them all in search of a new beginning in this harsh, unfamiliar world. She learns of sky cities that are safe from the storms and rising water, and she is finally able to convince the islanders that finding their way to New Mungo, the closest of the New World cities, is their only chance for survival. But upon reaching the mysterious high-tech civilization, they are shut out of the city, blocked from their only chance at sanctuary. Mara must find a way past the walls to save her people, even it it means risking everything."

New Book Advisory: Turn a Blind Eye by Jeffrey Archer

Available: Fiction, Regular and Large Print

Series: William Warwick Novel; #3

"Newly promoted to Detective Inspector, William Warwick is tasked with a dangerous new line of work, to go undercover and expose crime of another kind: corruption at the heart of the Metropolitan Police Force. Along with detectives Rebecca Pankhurst and Nicky Bailey, his team is focused on following Detective Jerry Summers, a young officer whose lifestyle exceeds his income. But the investigation risks being compromised when Nicky falls for Summers.

Meanwhile, notorious drug baron Assem Rashidi goes on trial, defended by Booth Watson QC, while William’s father Sir Julian and sister Grace lead the prosecution case. And William’s wife Beth, now a new mother to twins, makes a surprising new friend in Christina Faulkner—the ex-wife of William’s former rival, criminal financier Miles - who has not only turned over a new leaf, but also has a new-found source of income when Faulkner dies suddenly of a heart attack and she stands to be sole inheritor of his estate.

As the undercover officers start to draw the threads together, William realizes that the corruption may go deeper still, and more of his colleagues than he first thought might be willing to turn a blind eye."
