We are working hard to make the Town House a vibrant community space for Hardwick and the region.
Originally built in 1860 as a town hall and academy, The Town House was converted for use as an opera house in 1898 and continues today as a performance and community space. This effort takes time, community involvement and support, fantastic artists, lectures and films, and of course a lot of paint. If you would like to support the Town House by donating time or money, or by hosting an event in the space.

The Meet the Town Manager June gatherings are a joint effort of the Town and Hardwick Area Neighbor to Neighbor, during which residents can once again enjoy food and friends, celebrate our strengths, and build a shared vision for Hardwick's future.
David (Opie) Upson assumed the position of Town Manager in September 2021. Raised in Hardwick, he has deep insight into our community. He is committed to building toward a great future for the town. "I am looking forward to meeting folks in the community that I don't know and speaking with those I haven't spoken with since becoming the Town Manager. In my opinion, it is important for the community to celebrate our successes and work together to address our challenges to become stronger and more resilient."
Five neighborhood host teams first gathered in April to plan their own neighborhood gathering. Although each team is creatively customizing their individual event, each will include:
*** a shared meal (including community contributions)
*** time to hear from our Town Manager about his background and vision for Hardwick
*** an opportunity to discuss both what is good about living in Hardwick and also what will improve life for you, your family and the town as a whole.
Ideas from these meetings will be documented to benefit town leaders and community groups as they confront many upcoming decisions.
Although we anticipate that each gathering will largely draw from the immediate neighborhood, residents are welcome at any of the following evening events, starting at 5:30 PM:
June 6 Atkins Field
June 15 Brochu Pole Barn - West Hill
June 20 Atkins Field
June 22 Mackville Pond
June 27 East Hardwick Grange
Each neighborhood host team will provide more detailed information about their upcoming event in the coming weeks. The town website will also provide more detailed information. Questions? Call 802-441-3301.

The painted curtains at The Hardwick Town House are in their winter resting spots.
As autumn is upon us, some fall cleaning is in order before the winter settles in. Our projector screen has been used by for their outdoor movie series and needed some TLC! A nice rinse down and air dry was in order for our screen, and now it’s as clean as ever. There’s still one more movie night at East Hardwick, 9/7, at 7:30pm. See ya then!

Our lovely board met for the annual meeting last evening. As you can tell, everyone is hard at work for goals for the 2020 year.

The Town House wasn’t as vibrant and lively as it is now. We’re looking back on this past decade of performance and art, and even our 121 years of harboring and platforming hundreds of concerts, forums, workshops and events. What’s your favorite memory of the ?
