The Hardwick Recreation Committee is looking for multiple dedicated, friendly, idea filled volunteer members to join the team! The committee is a proud addition to the Town of Hardwick, bringing events such as green up day, the easter egg hunt, and supplying the local ice rink, while working alongside the Trail Committee. Hardwick as a town has been growing rapidly the last few years, and events will be beginning to take place as the weather gets warmer, and the nights get longer. If you have a desire to broaden your presence within the Hardwick community and bring new exciting events to the town, join the Recreation Committee on March 8th at 6:00 pm at the senior center, located at the Hardwick police department on 58 High Street. We are looking forward to working alongside you as a team and seeing new or returning faces, see you soon! All great events begin with the potential of a person's thoughts and the backbone of a committee to make it happen. Let's bring your big ideas into reality together as the Hardwick Recreation Committee!

Amazing afternoon at Mackville Pond Recreation Area

Mackville playground is mostly free of snow and ready for playing during this beautiful weather 🌞

02/06/2021

It is not easy to post this but I have to let everyone know that the ice rink is officially closed for the season. We had hoped to re flood it but I went down tonight and have found holes in our liner. Please if you could stay off it so hopefully we will be able to fix it this spring so we can be back next winter.

01/30/2021

Thank you to all the volunteers who came to assist in the ice rink set up! The weather is great for now getting it frozen. We will be skating soon enough. Remember when the ice is ready to wear your mask and maintain a 6ft distance from anyone not in your immediate household.

01/27/2021

Thank you so much to DR Property Maintenance & Lawn Care for volunteering your plow truck and time to keep the parking area clean down at Atkins field for ice skating. We really appreciate this!!

01/25/2021

We are ready to try again to get the ice rink set up this Saturday January 30th at 10am. Thank you to all that came the first time. It will be chilly but that will be good for getting the ice made after setup. Remember masks are required. I hope to see many community members as we all know many hands makes for light work.

Good morning Hardwick Community! After careful consideration and the change in the outdoor recreation guidelines we have decided to go ahead and set up the ice rink down at Atkins field under the pavilion on Saturday January 9th at 11am. We are looking for volunteers to help assist us in the set up. Remember masks are required. We look forward to offering this awesome outdoor recreation this winter for the community. Unfortunately we won’t be able to offer loaner skates this year but we hope the community understands. Once the ice is ready for skating please remember to wear a mask and maintain a 6ft distance between you and anyone not in your immediate household. Signs will be posted with the guidelines at the pavilion. Thank You!!

Good evening everyone!! I hope everyone is enjoying this unseasonably warm weather we have been having. Due to this gorgeous weather we have decided to postpone the ice rink set up at Atkins field. Rescheduling is currently in progress and if you would like to volunteer please contact us and we will let you know the new date. Thank you so much!

It is that time of year again to get the ice rink set up down at Atkins field. Last year was a great success being able to set it up under the pavilion. So I'm reaching out to you my local community for volunteers to help us set it up for another great year of ice skating. We will be meeting at 10am Saturday November 14th at the pavilion to get it done. Please remember to wear your mask as mandated by the state and I hope to see some of you there, as we all know many hands makes for light work. Thank you from the recreation committee!

Green Up Vermont, postponed to May 30th.

The 50th Green Up Day is 1 month from today! We are excited to get out and clean up Vermont with safe social distance, gloves and masks.
Although this Green Up Day will be different than any other we have experienced, it will not hinder the pride in our civic service, the connection to our communities, and love of this spring tradition that makes our state shine.
Celebrate and Green Up with us safely, Sat. May 30!

We regret to inform everyone that, after conferring with town administration and other community members, Kiwanis will be cancelling the Hardwick Spring Festival this year. We are an organization of helping children and community, here and around the world, and we feel that we do not want to put anyone in the community in a health risk by holding the event. Keep your ears open for possible parade information when all of this has changed. Stay home and stay safe everyone.
