Front Seat Coffee will be hosting another board game night with Annie Houston on December 15th! Please come join us for some great fun with friends and neighbors. This will be taking place every third Thursday of the month. Birdsong will be open for beverages to purchase and enjoy while you play and some light snacks and coffee here at Front Seat.

Tomorrow is opening day for the Satellite ! We can’t wait to see you all there for the rest of the winter. Saturdays and Sundays 9-3 😃

As we soon turn our calendars to December, the Hardwick Area Neighbor to Neighbor group (HANtN), the Hardwick Area Food Pantry, and the Civic Standard are mobilizing, along with a number of local collection point partners, to make sure all heads, hands and feet stay warm this coming winter! Some local knit creations are no doubt already underway due to an earlier announced HANtN kick-off for the annual hat, scarf, mitten and sock drive. These items will be included in the Hardwick Area Food Pantry holiday boxes and distributed to area schools.

In addition to a goal of “100 Hats for Hardwick…and Beyond”, we are focusing on increasing the sock inventory this year, targeting 300 adult and 100 youth pairs.

To supplement the efforts of local knitters, The Hardwick Area Neighbor to Neighbor group was delighted to receive word from Darn Tough Vermont Socks that their donation request was approved (see picture below). We are most grateful for their delivery of 25 colorful merino wool socks, guaranteed for life!

A generous grant from the "Warm Toes Fund” of The Jewish Community of Greater Stowe facilitated the purchase of 88 additional pairs of youth and adult socks for distribution this holiday. They were secured from the Bombas company, which donates one pair of socks to an individual who is homeless for every pair purchased.

Meanwhile, the Civic Standard hosted a “knit-in” on November 5th and has an upcoming knit-in scheduled for December 7th from 5-8. Drop-offs for all donated items will be at clearly identified boxes at the following locations:

The Hardwick Area Food Pantry asks that donations be new hats, scarves, mittens or socks. All shapes, sizes and colors are welcome!

Updated days for Johnson satellite. We will only be open on the weekends for the month of October (same hours 8-2), then we will be closing for the season. The satellite will hopefully be moving to Craftsbury Outdoor Center sometime December but still TBD. We look forward to our last few weeks with all of our favorite Johnson friends, let’s make them great and filled with your favorite delicious treats and coffee! 😁

We are super sad to say farewell to our barista Bailey. She has been a consistent and skilled member of our team for the last almost two years! A lot has changed at Front Seat and so much of who we are is because of our amazing team. Thanks again Bailey. We wish you all the best with your journey forwards.

New outdoor tables! These table tops are from an old elm tree near my house in South Albany. Took me a while to get them all sanded and oiled and varnished, but here they are!
