Sally and I had another great meal and drinks at "The Pie" in Hardwick today. But, I was really pleased and surprised they had a delicious peanut butter pie on the dessert menu!

Story Walk on Main Street is UP! The story, The Three Questions by Jon Muth based on a story by Tolstoy, starts The Rehair Shop- Hair Salon and then goes to windows The Clip Joint & Co., AT&T Store, Buffalo Mountain Food Coop, The Galaxy Bookshop, The Scale House, Whistle Emporium, Yummy Wok, Positive Pie in Hardwick, and The End is Front Seat Coffee where you can find the little box with passports! Be sure to have your child pick up a passport and stamp it during Front Seat's open hours and then be sure to visit the other five story walks in five other towns and stamp the passport there! Other libraries participating are Barton, Cabot, Craftsbury, Glover, and Greensboro. Visit the library kids' page on our website for more information! The stories will be up until May 19 in celebration of Children's Book Week. BIG THANKS to participating businesses for giving over some window space for this project!!🐼🐾📚

The Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE) is working with Hardwick restaurants to recreate a free Hardwick Community Dinner each Thursday. Participating restaurants will be paid by CAE thanks to generous grants including funding from Everyone Eats, a project of Southeastern Vermont Community Action with federal funds designed to help respond to Covid-19.

We are aware that everyone has been affected by Covid-19 - financially, by extra time demands, by more difficult transportation, by challenges to get to grocery stores and farms as we did in times past. For the grant requirements, by accepting these free meals that person will be acknowledging that their food access (food security) has been affected by the pandemic.
