NWTF “Tri-County Spurs” chapter

As I load up my new turkey vest. Smiling like a kid at Christmas!! One by one, filling the array of well thought out pockets that cover this Mr.Fox vest.
I started thinking to myself .
“Man, i really and truly love to turkey hunt!!” !!
I started thinking back about all the memories i have of different hunts that I’ve gone on. Some of them with family, Like my father. and my uncle “Tick” , who Introduced me to the turkey woods back when i was eight or nine years old . Which set flame to this insane obsession I have for chasing these remarkable birds
Then I thought about all the time spent hunting with my son. The celebrations over a successful hunt! And those “sick to the stomach” feelings after some that weren’t so successful .
Then I thought about all the other times.
The times that I hunted with friends, both life long and new. I thought all the times that I hit the woods solo… Just me, and that ol’ turkey vest!
It made me realize… there is so much more to turkey hunting .
It brings people together! both family and friends. It teaches valuable lessons!
The kind you can use on your next hunt. As well as , the lessons that come in handy 25 years from now!
Thats when it dawned on me!…
And this new Turkey vest, and all the old vest before it. They weren’t just turkey vests ! They are containers ! And just like they hold all my turkey hunting accessories. They also store all the years of unreplacable memories ! The kind you can only find in the Turkey woods. The kind of memories that no matter how old you get , they will always mean the most . Just all kinds of memories , tucked away in tons of various size pockets.
These ol’ turkey vest do a whole lot more than just organize and carry your calls. They hold stories. Generations of unedited , un-cut, and irreplaceable stories!

To all the VA youth turkey hunters that will be hitting the woods over the next couple days.!! Hunt safe, shoot true. And remember, when you cant stop the flop.
