My wonderful brother Mike made me a happy quilter! He made drawers for my thread cabinet! So much easier to use! He assembled them in his woodworking shop at his home in San Diego and brought them on the plane. He and my husband Kent installed them in this cabinet that was our grandmother’s.
Birthday quilts made for Ella, Natilee, and Christopher! Grammy loves you so much!!!
Beautiful redwork embroidery by Janet S. I tried to make the free motion quilting in the center look like snow swirling. The border is computerized with “First Snow” from Anne Bright.
National Parks, National Monuments and Apollo patches memory quilt for my kid’s 5th grade teacher Ron L. I was lucky that the National Park fabric came out recently! I stitched the 106 patches on my longarm.
This fun Garden Party quilt was pieced and appliquéd by my customer Lyn P. I free-motion quilted it with matching Glide threads. 🧵

I was able to get this free-motion quilt done before my shoulder surgery on Wednesday. Creative quilter Georgia designed this original quilt herself for her granddaughter Pele! I’m still able to do edge-to-edge quilts and I was able to finish one this morning with help from my wonderful husband Kent.
Summer will be over soon. 😔 Thankful for the beautiful colors of fall. 🍁 This wool appliqué was sewn by my good friend Rachel and I did the custom quilting.

Are you stuck at home with nothing to do? Try quilting! Precuts are a fun and easy way to get started! There are lots of online shops to buy these, such as Fabrics.com or Fat Quarter Shop. The fabric is already cut and you just sew them together. There are lots of online resources to get ideas and how-to’s. Also, there are many charities that take quilt donations such as Project Linus, Quilts of Valor or Quilts Beyond Borders. I’m offering a 15% off discount on quilting services to any new quilters who might want to give quilting a try!
If anyone is planning to make masks for healthcare workers, my daughter Emily, who is an ICU nurse, recommends this pattern. It’s well fitted and goes around the sides more than the surgical masks. She says they don’t need to have the wire because they are well-fitted over the nose. Also, she and her coworkers are getting sore behind the ears from the ones that hook behind their ears and the elastic on this pattern goes around the head. If you’re able to get elastic, make the top strap 10” and the bottom strap about 8 1/2”. If you can’t get elastic, straps that tie work well too! Also, I’ve found batiks work well because there’s really no right or wrong side. Please be sure to use a different print for the inside and outside. If you’re able to make any, let me know and I will get them Emily and her co-workers at Alexian Brothers Hospital. Thank you so much!!
Sew a fitted face mask with a flexible nose for a tight seal from the comfort of your home! Free PDF pattern download included. Calling all sewists!!! Hospit...

This is Max’s 4 month picture but next Monday he’ll be 5 months already!
I finally made a quilt for my wonderful husband Kent! The NASA fabric celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing. Kent was always a big fan of the space program and even worked on the Space Shuttle program as an engineer! The pictures are copies of actual articles from the newspaper of the landing and photos of the giant weld gantry that Kent worked on for the external tank.
Be sure to tune into this special tonight or set your DVR!
