Around 5:00 pm this afternoon, the Hanahan Police Department received a 911 call regarding a possible shooting in the Lowe’s Food parking lot, 1000 Tanner Ford Blvd. When officers arrived, an individual was located with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. This individual was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Our investigators have determined that the actual shooting took place at another location and based on what we have gathered so far, this is a domestic related incident and there is no threat to the general public.

We do want to thank the staff at Lowe’s for immediately confining the shoppers to the inside of the store while your police officers worked quickly to assess the situation and determine if there was an active threat to those who were at the shopping center.

Because this is still an active and on-going investigation, we are unable to release any additional information at this time.

This is the second shooting we have had in the area in a week and I want to inform all of our residents, while I am unable to release specific information, both of these recent shootings are isolated incidents and Tanner Plantation as a whole is a very safe community.
