This is Laura Kowalczyk. I recently started a FB Group, @Lovin' Life In Loudoun! and wanted to invite everyone to join! Our goal is to support and promote our local businesses in a positive, happy way! No rants/politics/griping! Panther was absolutely thrilled to see wild turkeys right outside the window! (That is the back of his head in the bottom right corner of the picture.) I went outside to photograph them, but I they saw me and hustled off (picture in comments—there are two more just out of the frame, in the woods).

This is what Lake Superior looks like at sunrise when it's -10° outside. I've always wanted to create a photo like this and am so glad I had the chance. Right place, right time. There isn't always ice like this here. And we got lucky with some clouds at sunrise and sea fog, too.

I was really fortunate to see this Great Gray Owl last week in MN. It was really cold and windy outside when I was photographing him, and my hands were numb by the time I got back into the car, but totally worth it! How cool is he?!

Went to MN last week to visit a friend and photograph wildlife and frozen landscapes (I'll share some of those photos soon). My flight out of Dulles was at 6 am and I was there at 4:45 am (thank you to my wonderful husband for dropping me off). This is what Dulles looks like at that hour. Luckily Peet's opened at 5:30!
