Juneteenth is celebrated every June 19th to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. The holiday was first celebrated in Galveston, Texas, where on June 19th, 1865, slaves were declared free.

Today marks the 10-year anniversary of the death of our beloved rental agent Alice Hill. She worked for Franklin Communities from 1989 to 2012. In the early days, she handled all the rentals along with the maintenance requests for 7 communities.

There is not a day that we don't tell a humorous Alice story in our office. She loved her daughter Laura and grandkids Kevin and Amanda more than anything in the world, and spent her free time shopping, doing crossword puzzles, and visiting Mohegan Sun with her 2 best friends. She was a great storyteller and shared so much of her life with us. Frequently, she could be heard around the office saying, "Honey, put your dancing shoes on because you don't know what tomorrow will bring." We have our dancing shoes on and we miss you like crazy. Rest well, friend.

We want to give a huge thank you to our crew who worked hard last night and this morning to make sure our residents could safely get to school and work today!! First snow of the winter is in the books!

Regional Property Manager Joanna made our office "Charlie Brown Christmas tree" sparkle and shine by making ornaments to represent every member of the staff!

Hamden Free Summer Concert Series Lineup Announced The Free Summer Concert Series takes place on Friday nights at Town Center Park in Hamden.

Happening this Saturday!

Hamden Police Department to host several Bike Rodeos for kids and families in June and July - On Saturday, June 11th, bring your bike decorated any way you like to Hamden Fest between 10am - 12pm, then join the Hamden PD again at Brooksvale Park from 1pm - 3pm for a second Bike Rodeo. A third bike rodeo is scheduled for Saturday, July 23rd at the Tommy K's Plaza and another will be announced for August. There will be t-shirt and helmet giveaways. Must bring your own bike and wear a helmet. Must sign and bring a waiver available here:
