I am creating a traveling pop-up art show to raise money for Syrian refugees. Each panel will be faced with reclaimed wood/lath, broken up into two parts.

I have partnered with Maine Immigrant and Refugee Services (MIRS) out of Lewiston to assist in obtaining monetary and material donations as well as having art purchases be tax deductible. The show will consist of 100 panels 11 1/2" x 23 1/2" on one wall; 4 panels high, 25 panels wide. They will be hung on sheets of plywood fastened to the wall to expedite setting up the show and repairing the wall

The show will consist of 100 panels 11 1/2" x 23 1/2" on one wall; 4 panels high, 25 panels wide. They will be hung on sheets of plywood fastened to the wall to expedite setting up the show and repairing the wall after it is taken down. Each panel will be faced with reclaimed wood/lath, broken up into two parts. One section left natural, the other painted black. The angle of the dissection will vary. No two panels will be alike. This will touch on
two important aspects, the uniqueness of an individual person as well as how we are all made up of and share the same fundamental elements. As the show travels from one venue to the next the arrangement will be the same. Not until after the final show will the artwork go home to its new respective owners. Each panel will be $200 and 100% of sales will go towards an organization helping refugees.

If you are interested in making a tax deductible contribution to help me raise money for materials please message me.

Thank you all!

‘Inventing Abstraction: 1910-1925,’ at MoMA “Inventing Abstraction: 1910-1925,” a dizzying, magisterial cornucopia at the Museum of Modern Art, captures some of the original thrill and terror of the creation of abstract art.
