I knew I would forget someone: Thanks to Lisa Francisco & her daughters, Riley & Piper, for pulling up tape & helping to break down tables & to my co-worker, Beth Slabach & Austin for putting up signs.
We had a very successful Holiday Living Show this weekend. We didn't have as many vendors as we usually do, but the ones we had brought a variety of items & seemed to be happy with their sales. Many thanks to our vendors, customers, 4-H Club & their leader, Hunter, members of the Business Women's Association, Janet Stevens & the custodial staff at the high school & everyone who helped with the show. Sorry if I have left anyone out but know your help & participation was appreciated.
The Holiday Living Show has another food vendor who will be serving hot dogs, chips & drinks in the concession area. Vendors have been busy setting up their displays for the show which opens at 9 Saturday morning. Come on out & do some Christmas shopping.
Found out today Spainhour's will be at the Holiday Living Show until 2 p.m. on Saturday. Glad they will be there. The food is always good.
I found out yesterday that the school group who usually runs the concession stand during the Holiday Living Show will not do so this year. Today I learned Spainhour's Diner will not be there so, as of now, we have no food for vendors. If anyone knows of a food truck or other type of food, let me know.
The Business Women's Association of Halifax County WILL have the Holiday Living Show on November 13 & 14, 2021. We still have vendor booths available. If anyone would like an application packet, please visit our website, www.halifaxbusinesswomen.org, or email us at [email protected].
We had a number of application packets for the 2021 Holiday Living Show returned by the Post Office because the vendors were no longer living at the address we had on file. If you know of anyone who was a vendor at the 2019 show but has not gotten the 2021 packet, please have them contact us.
Members of the Business Women's Association met today to prepare & send out application packets for the 2021 Holiday Living Show. We mailed out 137 packets. The show will be held on November 13 & 14.

The Business Women's Association is planning to have the 2021 Holiday Living Show on November 13 & 14. The application can be downloaded from our website, www.halifaxbusinesswomen.org. We are unable to award any scholarships this year because we had to cancel the show last year. If you have any questions, call Pat Yancey at 434-579-5528 or email [email protected].
I am saddened to announce we have had to cancel the Holiday Living Show, which was scheduled for November 14 & 15. There have been a number of new Covid cases diagnosed in Halifax County, and our members made this decision to protect our vendors and customers. We will try to plan another fund raiser so that we may able to give scholarships next year. Thank you for your understanding.
All vendors who have paid for spots at the show will be issued a full refund within the next couple of weeks.
The Holiday Living Show will be held as scheduled on November 14 & 15 with whatever restrictions may by in effect at that time. We may not be able to have as many vendors as in previous years so get your application in as soon as possible to be sure to get a space.
We have been notified by the high school that we will be able to have the Holiday Living Show in November but will be subject to all Covid19 guidelines that are in effect at that time. We will mail out application packets this week to the vendors who were at last year's show. Anyone else who would like an application can get it on our website www.halifaxbusinesswomen.org or email us at [email protected]. If the show has to be canceled, we will issue refunds to vendors who have registered & paid the fee.
I know everyone has more to worry about now than the 2020 Holiday Living Show. However, I wanted to let you know we are still planning the show for November 14 & 15. One of our vendors called the other day with this question and also asked if we would give refunds if the show is canceled. Please be assured that if WE cancel the show for any reason, we will issue a full refund to everyone who has registered and paid. Vendors can still cancel by September 1 and receive a full refund. Stay safe!
I know that everyone has more to worry about than the 2020 Holiday Living Show. However, I wanted to let you know that as of now we are still planning the show. I had one of our vendors call me the other day and ask that question. He also said that some of the spring shows he had registered for were canceled and the organizers refused to refund his fee. Please be assured that if WE cancel the show for this virus or any other reason, we will issue a full refund. If anyone is registered and wants to cancel, he or she has until September 1 to get a full refund. Stay safe!
The 2020 Holiday Living Show application is updated & on our website. There were changes to the application concerning food vendors. Last year's vendors will be sent the application packet in May. Anyone who was not a vendor last year but wishing to have a packet mailed to him/her, should email the name, address, telephone number & product to be sold to [email protected]. We already have a few vendors registered.
Business Womens Association of Halifax County
The 2020 application for a scholarship from the Business Women's Association of Halifax County is now available on our website. Any college bound person interested, please complete and send in the application and required documents by March 15. Our website is www.halifaxbusinesswomen.org.
The email for the Business Women's Association ([email protected]) has been down for the last few days. If anyone sent an email, please re-send it. Thanks.
The 2019 Holiday Living Show is over & it was a successful one. We had 100 vendors registered but three had to cancel. There were some new vendors, as well as many of our long-time favorites. Milda Lois Dodson, of the Corner Candy Shop, announced this would be her last year as she is retiring. Hopefully, the person purchasing the business will continue to be a vendor. All of the vendor fees will be given out to local students in scholarships.
We will have the new scholarship application online by January 1, 2020. Our website is www.halifaxbusinesswomen.org. We will also have the applications available at the local libraries & at the high school guidance office.
We would like to thank all of the vendors, shoppers, Janet Stevens & the people in the school maintenance department, The News & Record & The Gazette-Virginian newspapers & all of of the many people who helped to make the show possible & especially the members of our association who worked hard for months to bring the show to fruition.
Hopefully the 2020 show will be as good or better. Mark your calendars for November 14 & 15, 2020.
We are full for the Holiday Living Show. Only spots left are outside.
Business Womens Association of Halifax County
The Holiday Living Show has only a few vendor spaces left. We are looking for a food vendor so if anyone cooks/serves food, send us an application or contact us at 434-579-5528.
We still have some vendor spaces left for this year's Holiday Living Show, happening November 9 & 10. Get your applications in before they are all gone.
We want to remind everyone that 100% of the vendor fees are paid out in scholarships to local students, whether just starting college or going to college in the later years. Someone had advised people to call to get spaces in the parking lot across from the school that weekend. Keep in mind that, while you might save the vendor registration fee, you are also depriving some student of much needed funds to continue his/her education. This show is a lot of hard work on the part of the members of the Business Women's Association of Halifax County and we do not reap any financial rewards from it.
Also, all of the $2 entrance fee is given to the athletic department at the high school. So come out that weekend to support the students!
Members of the Holiday Living Show met on Saturday, May 18, to prepare the application packets for the 2019 Holiday Living Show. These have been sent out to last year's vendors. If you don't have your packet in the next week, let us know.
The Holiday Living Show committee will be mailing out 2019 applications around the middle of May. If you were not a vendor last year & would like an application, email us at [email protected]. You can also download the application from our website www.halifaxbusinesswomen.org.

The 2019 Holiday Living Show is also now available on our website.
The vendors are setting up their products, getting ready for the show to start tomorrow. Plan to come out & shop.
The Holiday Living Show will be held this weekend on Saturday & Sunday, November 10 & 11. We have a lot of new vendors this year as well as returning favorites. We do still have a few spaces left if anyone is interested in being a vendor. Contact us.
Members of the Holiday Living Show committee met on Wednesday to assign spaces to the vendors. There are still a few spaces available if you wish to apply. Remember the proceeds from vendor fees are used to give scholarships to local students who further their education.
We are getting closer to the Holiday Living Show and continue to get applications from vendors. We still have plenty of spaces available if you would wish to join us as a vendor. Remember, all of the net proceeds from the space fees go to provide scholarships for students starting or continuing in college. You can help our students by being a vendor or by shopping at the show on November 10 & 11.
On Saturday, May 12, members of the Holiday Living Show Committee met and prepared applications for mailing to vendors in previous years. We mailed out 148 application packets. The information and application are available on our website, www.halifaxbusinesswomen.org.
