So much hand-work put into all that tatting, and adorned with tatted Irish Roses throughout the length of the collar. Inside neck edge: 24”. Width of collar: 3.25”. Condition-Very Good. PAIR, LATE VICTORIAN PASSEMENTARIE BOBBIN LACE MOTIFS, c1890s. All linen, except for Soutache cord. Lovely pair of handmade, bobbinlace motifs with soutache cord woven into lace band and small needlelace rondelles attached in a few areas. These motifs are a bit stiff due to the linen threads and central cord. They were probably for an outer garment embellishment. Total length each motif: 8.5”. Width: 3”. Condition- Very Good. The featured collection this week is LACE, Antique and Vintage. I've collected lace for over 20 years, and now it's time to have these pieces go to new homes! My favorite period is late Victorian and Edwardian. I used to curate a Victorian costume and textile collection at a historical museum in Northern California. Working 24/7 with these objects allowed me to gain valuable insight into the materials and techniques used.
