Then stay for the Hancock Whitney Sea of Stars for Mississippi Aquarium for the drone and firework show from 8:00 to 9:00 PM!!

All eight of us - Robert, Cara, Sean, Beth, Michael, Jacob, Hunter, and George - hope all of our tenants, along with their families and friends, had a wonderful Christmas Day.

Gulfport's Fuel Dock is back open -- but with some changes to its hours of operation...

• Monday thru Friday: 24 hours a day.
• Saturday and Sunday: 8am to 11pm (closed 11pm to 8am).

As soon as we get our normal staffing back in place, we will once again be open 24/7/365.

Good Afternoon Marina Tenants,

Hope all is well with everyone.

Some damage to the Marina did occur and lots of debris remains both shoreside and waterside. We are, also, still investigating the potential of navigational and other hazards.

While the order for mandatory evacuation from the Marina has been terminated for Hurricane Ida, the Marina and the Bert Jones Yacht Basin remain CLOSED and no vessels may return until 7am on Thursday, September 2, 2021.

As for the fuel dock, it will likely remain out of operation into the near future, but we are working to get it back up and running in as short a time as possible. With that said, it may be prudent for everyone to point their attention south for the possibility of yet more tropical development in the Western Caribbean over the next few days or week.

Please be sure you're willing and have enough fuel to navigate from where you are now back to the Gulfport Marina only for another storm to come knocking on our door that would require another mandatory evacuation --- especially with an unknown fuel dock situation. Not at all saying that will happen, but certainly worth consideration for all parties.

In summary: The Marina remains closed and no vessels may return until 7am on Thursday, September 2, 2021. The power will NOT be turned back on until that time and the status of the fuel dock remains unknown until further investigation.

Additionally: For the charter boats on Pier Six, you are permitted during this down time at the fuel dock to jug in your own fuel if desired. For all others, you may call in a fuel truck to bring you fuel, if desired. In either scenario, both of the aforementioned practices will become prohibited again once the fuel dock is back up and running in its normal hours of operation.

IMPORTANT MESSSAGE FROM THE HARBORMASTER:

Good morning Marina Tenants,

As you're hopefully aware, a major hurricane with sustained winds to 120 mph (gusts to 150) and storm surge to 11+ feet, is forecast by the NHC to impact our coastline this weekend; Saturday late into Sunday. And surely, that forecast will potentially change +/- between now and landfall.

With this morning’s forecast, the City has ordered a mandatory evacuation of all vessels from the Municipal Marina's Slips and Bert Jones Yacht Basin.

All vessels are to depart the Marina immediately, but no later than 2pm on 8/28/21, and no vessels may return until the all clear is issued by the City after the storm passes.

Please take note that the Fuel Dock will close early on Saturday (8/28) morning. Additionally, we are presently limiting fuel purchases to no more than 75 gallons per customer.

Remember to empty your dockbox and to lock the lid so it doesn't get torn off with surge and waves. Also, take all your tie lines and power cords with you upon departure.

Tenants are also advised that no vehicles may be left in any of the Marina or Jones Park parking lots. Rather, all vehicles must instead be removed to another location away from the Marina or Jones Park.

Gulfport Municipal Marina had to close briefly after Hurricane Zeta but it is now reopen.

Some of the Marina Staff will be on site Wednesday continuing our Zeta recovery efforts, some will be off for Veterans Day, and the Marina office will be closed on 11/11 too.

But on Thursday(11/12), we will begin contacting those boaters who have already let us know they need a slip as we now believe we can get them them accommodated almost immediately.

If you’re a current Gulfport tenant but have not yet returned your boat to the Marina, your original slip is either available right now or soon will be, so give us a call so we can be sure we’re all on the same page.

Gulfport Marina’s evacuation order was lifted at 11:59pm on Oct 29, 2020. It was immediately followed by a temporary closure order that went into effect at 12:00am on Oct 30, 2020.

By the above order, no vessels may return to or be berthed within the Marina’s slips until the closure order is lifted.

The closure order is necessary to ensure we can remove all debris, correct all safety issues, and mitigate any navigation hazards that might exist.

The above activities will be expedited to ensure we can return to relative normal in the shortest time possible.

Many of our tenants are asking about returning their boat to their slip at the Marina.

As of now, the Marina remains CLOSED to all vessels and will be reopened ONLY after it’s deemed safe and prudent to do so by the City.

Rest assured, we will do everything in our power to expedite reopening, but for now and the near-term future, we remain closed to all present tenants, transients, and new slip requests.

Please help spread the word. We will update this information as and when things become more clear on a reopening date. We, like you, are hoping for sooner rather than later.

Zeta kicked the Marina’s behind. And Jones Park too. Safety hazards throughout, boats on piers, utilities yet to be inspected. The list goes on. Gonna be a bit before we get reopened...

Gulfport Marina Home Page We're watching Tropical Storm Zeta that's expected to enter the southern Gulf over the next day.  Once Zeta gets into the Gulf, it's presently forecast to become a hurricane before impacting the northern Gulf on Wednesday or Thursday.

All this from a MINIMAL CAT 1 hurricane. This marina in Southport, NC, is virtually wide open to the Atlantic Ocean. Much like our marina is virtually wide open to the Gulf of Mexico.

This storm's track had been known for DAYS, yet all these boats just sat there awaiting their doom, demise, and destruction.

Word to the wise... This, as with so many before, nails down the reason for evacuating boats to safer waters before an approaching storm arrives. Especially boats in a Gulf- (or Atlantic-) front marina!!

Never doubt the awesome impact and significant devastation of wind driven waves on top of storm surge. The surge will always win...
