Drumroll please… Today’s GEFFE Top Schol ar spotlight shines on BAYLEE GREGG, t he Valedictorian of the Class of 2022.

GEF FE is excited to recognize excellence in educati on by showcasing the distinguished GEFFE T op Scholars, Class of 2022. Seniors at Gro ve High School who have maintained a weight ed grade point average of 4.0 or high er throughout their high school years a re bestowed the honor of GEFFE T op Scholar. Congratulations and best of lu ck to each of the remarkable GEF FE Top Scholars!

Baylee Gregg is the daught er of Keri Gregg and Shane Gre gg. She plans to attend the Universi ty of Tulsa, focusing her studies in Politic al Science with a Pre-Law emphasis.

Baylee h as maintained a 4.0 or higher weight ed GPA during her high school yea rs while taking numerous Advanced Placement ( AP) classes, including AP Government, AP Comput er Science Principles, AP United States Histo ry, AP Language, AP Computer Science Applicatio ns, AP Statistics, AP Calculus and AP Literatu re. In addition to her busy cla ss schedule, she is an active memb er in the Grove High School Stude nt Council, the Heritage Club, Interact Cl ub, Character Counts and she was a C OW Week participant. Baylee also serves on t he Title IV Indian Education Committee as a Stude nt Representative and she is on t he Bank of Grand Lake’s Student Governi ng Board. She is a valued memb er of the Ridgerunner Varsity Soccer Te am and also the Ridgerunner Varsity Basketba ll Team. She has experienced many success es with her basketball team, including bei ng named the 4A Basketball District/Regional/Area Champio ns 2019-2020, 4A Basketball District/Regional/Area Champions 2020-20 21 and 4A Area Consolation Champions 2020-20 21. Along with her teammates, Baylee play ed in the 4A State Basketball Tourname nt for two consecutive seasons, 2019-2020 a nd 2020-2021. And this year, her fin al season as a Ridgerunner, she celebrat ed with her amazing team as th ey won the 5A Regional Championship 2021-20 22, they are the 5A Area Consolati on Champions 2021-2022 and made yet anoth er appearance at the 5A State Basketba ll Tournament 2021-2022. Baylee was chosen to pl ay in the Grand Lake All-Star Basketba ll Game and was selected to t he Vinita All-Tournament Team 2021-2022. Throughout h er High School years, Baylee has be en the Homecoming Representative for the Herita ge Club, she has been chosen as Homecomi ng Princess, Prom Princess and was select ed as this year’s Prom Queen. Gra nt funding is directly related to t he quality of education and academic achieveme nt, which is why I thank GEF FE for providing me with a go od education that has set a sol id foundation for me build on wi th college curriculum."

How do you feel abo ut being recognized as a distinguished GEF FE Top Scholar?

— “I am very honor ed to be recognized as a GEF FE Top Scholar. Without GEFFE I wou ld not be as successful as I am, or have the opportunities that I wouldn ’t otherwise have. I’ve put numerous hou rs of work into my education a nd I am very privileged to be recogniz ed for it."

Is there anything special abo ut your education from Grove Public Schoo ls that you would like to share?

“With me being Type I Diabet ic, Grove Public Schools has been ve ry accommodating to my needs. I’m gratef ul that I have been able to li ve up to my full academic potenti al while battling my disease. A b ig thank you goes out to a ll of my teachers and coaches w ho took the time to go to diabet ic training to take better care of me. "

Megan has maintain ed a 4.0 or higher weighted G PA during her high school years whi le taking several Advanced Placement (AP) class es, including AP Statistics and AP Literatu re. She has also completed concurrent colle ge courses in Composition I, Composition II, College Algebra and College Speech. In additi on to her busy class schedule, Meg an is a valued member of t he Ridgerunner Varsity Basketball and Ridgerunner Varsi ty Soccer teams. She was recognized as an All-Distri ct soccer player her Junior year. Duri ng her Freshman year, Megan was al so a teammate of the Grove Hi gh School Football team as a kick er and received a Game Ball f or her contribution to the Ridgerunner Footba ll Team. In addition to all of h er athletic commitments, Megan has been a memb er of the Grove High School Stude nt Council for all four years of Hi gh School.

Lex us Martin is the daughter of Haze ll Martin and Owen Martin. She pla ns to attend the Arkansas School of Dent al Assisting, with plans to complete h er studies to become a Dental Assistant.

Lex us has maintained a 4.0 or high er weighted GPA during her high scho ol years while taking an Advanced Placeme nt (AP) class, AP Language. She h as also completed concurrent college courses in Compositi on I, Composition II and Computers in Socie ty. In addition to her busy cla ss schedule, Lexus is a member of t he National Honor Society, Grove High Scho ol Student Council, Character Counts, the Americ an Sign Language Club and the Spani sh Club. Lexus commits countless hours in rehearsa ls for the Grove High School Sh ow Choir, as well as being a memb er of the Color Guard for t he Pride of Grove’s marching band progr am.
