What an AWESOME day!! I got the pleasure of taking out one of my friends/classmates from way back when we were kids! Seth and I went to school from kindergarten thru high school! Seth's mom got ahold of me and said Seth used to love to fish with his late grandpa and would like me to get him out and catch some fish! First stop we made we were starting to get the cats fired up and Seth was reeling in a cat in the back of the boat and monster boat wake snuck in on us and slammed into my boat!! Well Seth went overboard rod and all!!! We finally got him back into the boat and he didn't lose the rod and even got the fish in!! After the excitement was over we both starting laughing and I asked Seth "do you remember the last time you fished with me?? I said it was on Binger Cases birthday back when we were teenagers and you fell in them too!!" "I said I'm starting to see a pattern fishing with you!!" It sure was great to catch up with him out there today. The fishing wasnt just on fire but it definitely was consistent and he got his limit of catfish, 5 whitebass for bonus fish, and even caught a BIG ole hybrid!! That dude gave him a heck of a tussle!! Seth had never caught one and after the big fight he was ready to catch another one of them!! Thank you Seth for the AWESOME day and look forward to our next adventure!!

What an AWESOME day with this father/son duo!! Little man got it figured out and was the CATFISH KING today!! First stop this morning we had an ABSOLUTELY PERFECT wind!! The fish were going nuts and then we lost all wind!!!🤦♂️🤦♂️ A little later the wind flipped 180* and they started to bite again!! The way we are catching these fish you HAVE TO HAVE wind!! They ended up with a TON of fresh fillets!! Thank you guys for an AWESOME day!!!

Around 11am this morning I was quickly reminded why I QUIT doing trips on Saturdays in July!! We were getting thrown around like a rag doll when all the big boats hit the lake!! We even had waverunners run completely over our lines!! It's definitely a CRAPSHOW out there on Saturdays in the summer months!! We decided to give it go and they still got a heck of a mess of kitties! (Over 2 gallons of fillets) We threw back some smalls, channels, and a few whitebass. I think all the boat traffic had them shutdown today. The areas I fish right now are right out in the middle of the lake and noway to avoid the chaos!! 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊We did land the new number sized blue for the year!! This was these kids first experience like this and they did GREAT!! Thank you guys for braving the CRAZINESS this lake throws down on the summer weekends!! Look forward to having you back out for spoonbill action!!

This summer has been the oddest one I've had for catfishing!! It's either feast or famine out there!! Normally then it's is pretty consistent whenever you want to fish but this year there seems to be windows where the fish just flip on and goes nuts on feeding!! This morning was no different! We started at 830am and had to hop and skip around all morning and only picking up a few every time we sat up. By noon we had a descent stack of fish and back to a spot we had fished already earlier that morning and all of a sudden ALL of the rods were slamming down!! We over doubled our numbers in just that one hour and just as fast as they turned on it died off again!! Luckily my crew reaped the benefits before they shut back off!! This was my largest number of fish day of the summer!! It just proves you can't give up and sometimes you have to stick it out for the payoff!! Michael Bagzis, his lovely wife, his son, and his 2 brothers are some of my very favorite people to have out!! They are some of the best people this world had to offer and they have become some of my best friends! I've said it 100 other times but being in this career for over 20 years I've made some of my very best friends throughout that time!! Thank you guys for an AWESOME day and for the great conversation and catfish killing!!

Sorry I haven't answered any calls or text today. Molly Beth Pritchard will start answering them tonight or tomorrow. In all my years of guiding I've never been so sick I had to have my good friend and customer Mark Fowler drive the boat for me!! By 11am I was so sick I couldn't hold my head up! We headed back to the ramp and cleaned what fish they had and I layed down at 12pm and I just now woke up with horrible migraine along with the fever and throwing up!! This bug going around is a horrible!! I don't ever hardly get sick but when I do I get it bad!! Thank you to everyone for their understanding and we will get our calls, texts, and messages caught up soon!

Little tougher day today. A lot of pecking and pulling today. We had a TON of wind earlier and it was hard to detect some of the smaller bites. These boys were become pros at the end of the trip. Still made a heck of a mess of fish!! Thank you guys for a great day!!

Not too bad for today being the toughest day I've had on the cats this summer!! Den Keith helped me with this two boat loader and the group ended up with 39.8 pounds of fillets. The fish never did just fire off today for us like they have been. We had several storms around us and even had to take cover from one storm for several minutes. We had bright sunny skies and when the cloudiness of the storms rolled in that seemed to be the shutdown. It definitely wasn't a setup one time and never move day. We moved several times throughout the day and never had just one good spot!! Thank you guys for sticking it out with us today and thank you to Den of Reel Time Adventures Guide Service for helping me run the second boat!!

The WEIRDEST thing I've ever encountered while fishing!! We had several storms skirting around us this morning. Checkout this fishing line!! We are out in the open with hardly any wind at all and there was so much static electricity in the air it was holding my fishing line straight up into the air!! 😳😳 It was almost like a ghost had a hold of our line and was holding it up!! I've never encountered that!!! We did get the buzzing of the rod tips which I've seen before and even got shocked by static electricity ⚡️ when a couple of the rods hit my metal ring. Watch this video closely and you'll see that line suspended up!!

It's crazy how much wind plays a factor on these open water blues!! We started at 10am this morning and absolutely no wind!! I run out to one of the spots and through 4 lines out and we had a good take down right off the bat!! Well then the BIG BOATS started showing up! With no wind they were shoving us around and around and I said we need to find something away from the big boats. We came into my second spot and graphed around and found a good school and tried to anchor lock and we had 6 rods go down fairly quickly!! Then the boat started doing its round and round with no wind. Well my group fought through it and we finally got our wind and they knocked it out!! They even had a couple hybrids and several whitebass to go with the whole 8' table full of blues!! This husband/wife team have fished with me several other times and they are ALWAYS a pleasure to fish with!! Thank you guys for a GREAT day bluecat CATCHING and thank you to my wife for coming out and helping me!!

This wild group put the WHOOPIN on the blues today!! With the storms rolling though this morning we didn't get out until 11am this morning. We got the first spot where I've caught them past few trips and sat up. We got them biting some and then ALL the big boats started coming out and we looked like a ping pong ball!! We stood as long as we could and I decided to go look at another spot that would be out of the boat traffic. We found a big group of fish and it wasn't long we got them FIRED up!! We had rods popping like CRAZY!! They filled the 8' table completely up in short time!!! ALL BLUES AND NO CHANNELS AT ALL!! They even had quite a few whitebass in the mix!! Thank you guys for an AWESOME day of catfish CATCHING!!

This father and son team put their limit in the the cooler fast,quick, and in a hurry this morning!!! They completely burried that 8' table with blues!! It's been a late morning bite for me here the past few trips so we decided to start at 10am this morning. Well I barley got out a few rods and we had rods slamming down!! We never moved one time!! They even had 3 good hybrids and a handful of whitebass for some bonus meat!! Their blues alone yielded 28 # of fillets!! The bite is HOT 🔥 right now!! I had an AWESOME trip today!! I had 4 generations of Wadels out today!! Today was exactly like it's been the past few trips. The dinner bell doesn't go off until late morning and then it's normally 1 1/2 to 2 hours of pure CHAOS!! Poor little Ashley didn't know which way to go with multiple rods going off!! They LOADED down that 8' table with all blues and a couple big ole hybrids!! All the channel cats went back in!! Thank you guys for a GREAT day and I'm glad I could help you guys make that memory!!

Cookie jar is finally full!! I think these shad developed super hero abilities this summer!! They seem a lot faster this summer!!! It's crazy to watch the net fall and then haul butt out from under it!! I only go after the big gizzards. Going to have to go with a bigger mesh net!!! Sure is fun throwing that big ole net 100 times a morning in the 172% humidity!! 😪 If you are looking for big bait Honey Creek State Park is LLLLLLOADED right now!

This is one of my trips I look forward to doing each summer!! I had my good friends Rodney Wadel and his granddaughter Ashley out for the yearly fishing trips!! I've been on the cat fish the past several trips and today we switched gears and went after the crappie. The crappie definitely weren't doing what they were the last time I was out!! It took us awhile to get away from fishing docks and get out on the open water brush piles. It's INSANE how many baby shad are out there now!!! Every fish was completely crammed full of them!! Eating was definitely not on their minds because we really had to work them over to make them bite!! At one spot a TON of schooler whitebass came up all around us so we decided to go chase them!! They stayed up forever!! Rodney and Ashley had never chased topping whitebass and they were throwing them 1/4 ounce Vibrex Roostertails as fast as they could!! They ended the day with limits of crappie and 22 whitebass. Tomorrow we will be going after cats with them and 2 more people!! I'll have 4 generations of Wadels in the boat!! Thank you guys for sticking it out and getting it done with me today!! First table pic is all their crappie and second pic is all the bonus fish on top!!

Let me tell little Jasper is a fish catching machine!! This 5 year old boy is ate with fishing and everything about!! He wasn't scared to get his hands dirty either!! He got to make some AWESOME memories with his dad and grandpa!! Reminds me of the song "Just Fishin"!! Well to start off the shad were extremely tough to get this morning! We finally got several and we went to the first spot and not a bite!! Moved to another spot and we caught 1!!! 3Rd slot started off a little slow and then the fish gods shined down on us!! Little Jasper was reeling fish in for a solid 2 hours!! We even caught some bonus big hybrids!! Thank you guys for a GREAT morning of catfish CATCHING!! These guys put some cats on the table this morning!! They both caught their pb blues. We had a great quality day!! We didn't get started until 10am with the rain forecasted and it didn't take very long at all to get bait and off we went to the first hole!! I marked several in the first spot but we never even got a bite!! We made a little move to deeper water and that was the ticket!! They put 22 # of meat in the freezer!! Thank you guys for a GREAT morning of catfish CATCHING!! I look forward to taking you guys out again!!

I had out this wild crew today!! Once little man figured out how to lay the hook to them he was a fishing machine!! The bite was a little slower than it has been for some reason today but it didn't stop these guys from getting a GREAT mess of fish!! What's even weirder this group never caught a channel all day! All blues and a few whitebass even grabbed their cut baits. Thank you guys for a fun day!!

I had my good friends Jarrod Seymour of Garmin Marine and his brother Jason Seymour out today. They usually go spoonbilling with me but today they brought their kids down for a catfish killin!! With the storms rolling through this morning we didn't get to start until afternoon. As soon as we caught bait the wind just went flat!! 🤦♂️ After a couple moves we finally got some good wind and the kitties started to play! Them boys rippin, missin and losin fish for over an hour!! They had fish coming in so fast they had me running ALL over that boat!! All of a sudden the wind flipped a 180 degrees and the flip switched and they shutoff but not until they had a PILE of cats in the cooler!! Thank you guys for a GREAT afternoon of catfish CATCHING!! Also thank you Jarrod for tuning up my Garmin locators!!

What a day!! I had this awesome husband and wife team out and they put a wackin on them kitties!! We had perfect wind right off the bat but the cats didn't want to play on spot 1. We decided to make a move and sat up and different spot and we looked at the radar and the storms were heard our way!! IN about a 2 min span the wind COMPLETELY STOPPED blowing!! The cats were just pecking and pulling and they landed a couple! We decided to go back to spot number 1 and when we got there we got our good wind back and the cats were slamming the rods down!! They put 27 cats in the box and threw some back and lost several!!! They even had a bonus hybrid and a couple of whitebass bonuses! They ended up with 4 gallons of fresh fillets yielding right at 12 #!! Thank you guys for a GREAT morning!!

I just can't keep mama down after transplant surgery!! She talked me into taking her out to run a couple easy holes before the 4th of July boat traffic got bad. She's doing really really well with it being a little over a month since her kidney auto transplant!! She's got too much drive to keep her down for long!!

I've always preached that you have to have wind to have a good cat bite in the summer and today was proof in that!! Yesterday I watched the wind forecast for today and it showed "light and veritable" for the last two days! The group I had was semi local and about 4pm yesterday I was gong to call them and see if they would like to move the date for a more windier day for the bite to be better? Well one last look at the forecast it finally said 5-10mph winds for today!! We went and caught bait and headed to the first spot and we had a little wind. We got sat up and caught a couple and the wind just completely died!!! The fish started just pecking and pulling on the lines and that was about it!! Then the boats started bouncing us around and around because we had no wind to hold us!! I said let's roll out into the middle of the lake and maybe we could pick some more wind out there!! I circled and circled and finally found a decent school of cats and we sat up. Again we had absolutely no wind!! The fish were just pecking and pulling on the lines. As I was fixing to decide to move again the, the good lord shined down on us and we got a perfect wind!! The pecking and pulling turned into full blown take downs and it wasn't long we were filling up the cooler!! Around 1230pm or so the boat traffic got HORRIBLE and we decided to call it!! We had a table FULL of blues and and the group ended up with a little over 35 # of fillets!! I think a lot of the blues are wrapping up spawning with the sizes we caught were getting bigger and not a one of the cats had eggs in them after cleaning!! Thank you guys for an AWESOME day of blue slamming and a big thank to the man upstairs for turning on the air machine and making them fish bite!! (As ALWAYS, ALL were caught on rod and reel and no jugs)

Well I normally let the big boats have it on holidays but I'm going to try to do a couple trips the next two days!! I hope everyone is mindful of everyone else out there today and we don't get too rocked! I gotta make a livin so I gotta try and get out there!! It's the only time of year where my 24' boat seems small!!

HOLY COW what HOT day!!! We got a 830am start this morning and it was already scorcher!! The crappie weren't liking the heat either where we've been fishing! My crew did great for the extreme heat! We lost several keepers up by the boat but they managed a GREAT mess of fish with 12 # of fresh fillets!! Thank you guys for sticking out the heat with me!! We had a cancellation for tomorrow so I'm going out early and look for some more crappie holes! We will probably be starting our trips a lot earlier with this heat wave and try to beat some of the heat!!

That stiff south wind this morning had the blues on the feed bag!! We only had to anchor one time and we threw 3 limits (45) water blues in the box and threw back all the channel cats. As always we were using cut gizzard shad anchored out on a feeding hump. Thank you guys for a fun morning of CATFISH CATCHING!!! 🐈⬛

Them crappie were on the feed bag this morning!! It's CRAZY how much the fishing is on weekdays vs. weekends with all the weekend traffic tearing up the lake!! The crappie were sitting tight and not spooky at all and they we're definitely looking for an easy meal!! Leagha Smith brought her dad and sister this morning and them girls could fish!! After learning the soft bite they were ripping crappie in left and right and had me running all over the boat!! Thank you guys for one AWESOME morning of CRAPPIE CATCHING!!
