With the added cost of The Outsider Semen it maybe time to try his full brother The Insider. We are really excited about the calves we have had born out of him so far. High quality semen is available at $40 per straw.

I am a little behind getting these pictures posted. But we had a great time at Cattlemens Congress. It is amazing how much the calves have changed the last month.

Feedin time on the farm!!

We had a very good time at Kansas City. All of the heifers we took was raised by us. It is a little more fun when it is your own. Big thank you to Kevin Michelle Bertschy Rieff for his help.

Lexi Lane and Bri raised this one on a bottle. She never missed a beat. We had planned to keep her in our barn but decided to offer her in the sale. She is sired by Simplify and goes back to a Red Angus. Her calves will be purebred if mated to a purebred bull. This one is all cow power. Andrew Chandler said she is the stoutest simplify he has seen. She is an added lot.

I promise if Ryan was home more he would show this one. No body is very excited about selling her. Super sweet attitude. But also really really good. Her mother was the black heifer Ryan Lane showed his senior year and won her division at the Junior Nationals, Fort Worth and Cattlemens Congress. This one is so maternal and sound in her skeleton. Only because we wanted to put one of the highest quality in the sale does she sell.

This one is built for fun then makes those high dollar show steers. As an added plus she is super gentle. Outsider x simplify x Dessert Rose. It is hard to make them this cool.

This one is just a great cow in the making. She will show then be your favorite cow. She is out of Lunesta then her mother comes from the Augusta Pride family with a shot of red angus in her pedigree that assures her success as a cow. Lot 5 in the Lasting Impressions sale.

We took pictures yesterday of the cattle we have in the lasting impressions sale and could not resist putting a little sneak peak out there for everyone to see. A big thank you to Kevin Michelle Bertschy Rieff for the help clipping them and Andrew Chandler for the help picturing the cattle. We are very excited about what this set of cattle can accomplish.

It is good to have goals and set them very high then work your butt off and fly by them.

It is a little hard to shovel out the trailer with a 2000 pound former national champion wanting to go back on the road. He was having a blast jumping up into the trailer through the side door and running out the back. I wish I would have recorded it. But I was just trying to stay out of the way.

New show barn is coming along.

The Junior Nationals at Abilene was a great experience. The kids did well and really enjoyed getting back at it. We had a great group that we traveled with The Butler Boys and Payton Sweeten were a great help. It was also great getting to see Faith.

A trio of Lunesta bull calves. He makes them stouter than we expected. They would make an interesting pen at Denver.

We have had a very busy month. From purchasing Wscc/Steck Hot shot then him winning the National Western Bull show to a very successful Fort Worth.

We’ve been told that it’s better to buy a bull when you find one rather than to look for one when you need one, this bull has made an impression on us our few days at Denver so we decided to add him to our herd yesterday. WSCC/Steck Hot Shot, sired by Hot Commodity out of Steck Cherri 528. We added to our small group of Simmies today. This is a purebred.

We have added three profit daughters to our herd to start a percentage simmy program. They are all also half Shorthorn. We had bought one from Rodney Rod earlier in the fall that we think can be special. Then when we saw there were three more in a sale we went and bought our favorite two of the three. I wish we would have gotten all three. We are going to call them the sisters. I think they maybe heard from for several years.
