It is with regret we announce the passing of Jean Bohannan who was a dedicated volunteer for the Grove Police Dept.
Jean was involved in many aspects of the Police Department including: traffic control for special events, Youth and Citizens academies, Administrative duties, and primary point of contact for volunteers . This just names a few of her many duties over her several years of service to the Police Department and her community. She will be greatly missed.
Her funeral service will be held March 19th 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Grove, OK.
Please pray for Jean’s family as they go through this difficult time.

[02/15/21]   Just released:

Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative received an urgent notification this afternoon from its power supplier, warning that power interruptions may become necessary at some point over the next few days if generation demand continues at what are being called “unprecedented levels.” NOEC has no control of the timing or length of these blackout. In response, we are asking members to take steps to reduce usage on a household level. We are recommending lowering thermostat settings and avoiding use of large energy appliances for the next 48 hours.

Grove Oklahoma Police Department

IMPORTANT PUBLIC INFORMATION: Over the next several weeks (until we advise/update differently) we encourage the public to call (918-786-6121) to do a report over the phone for all NON emergency calls. You might have evidence the officer may need to collect or pictures taken for evidence. Just let the officer know when you call. If you do have to come into the Police Department, there is a phone located to the right of the dispatch window to speak to them. This is to protect you and our dispatchers. Our officers are also doing the best they can with social distancing with the public. All BURN PERMITS are suspended until further notice, BUT you are still required to call 918-786-6121 before you burn. If you have a medical call requiring medical services, or requires an officer to come to your location, you will be asked the following questions for the safety and precautions for our First Responders: Have you had a fever in the last 24 hours? Are you having trouble breathing/shortness of breath? Do you have a cough?
The following will be the procedures for records requests: If you need an accident report you can ask your insurance company to request it via mail. If you need a copy for yourself, you will need to email your request (name, date, case #) to [email protected] and the records clerk will correspond with you on the request. When it is ready she will advise you the cost and you will need to mail a self-addressed stamped envelope with the payment, case number on the check/request, for amount given included. If you need an incident report, process is the same as accident reports, except you will need to include your name, date of incident (case number if possible), and how your related to the case/reason for the need of the report, email [email protected] for your request. Reports can NOT be emailed or faxed. We will NOT be doing fingerprints until further notice. We do not have a scanner to scan in live like DCSO has and we do not have the fingerprint cards available for the public. The OBN will NOT be picking up from the pill depository until further notice. If you have an immediate relative in jail, there will be NO visitations, except for bondsman and attorneys until further notice. The Grove Police Department is dedicated to providing services the best we can during this hard time on everyone and we will still respond to calls. Thank you for your help and cooperation in keeping us ALL safer during this hard time. We will keep you updated when we can, as things develop further. Please share this information to help get it out to everyone!
