☀️ Summer Pedicure & Manicure Safety Tips ☀️
A little pampering is great, but protecting your nail and skin health is even better!
🩴 Before Your Appointment
✔️ Avoid shaving your legs 24 hours before a pedicure to reduce the risk of infection.
✔️ Do not get a pedicure if you have cuts, open wounds, athlete’s foot, warts, or a nail infection.
✔️ If you have diabetes, neuropathy, or poor circulation, let your nail technician know.
💅 At the Salon
✔️ Bring your own nail polish and pedicure kit when possible.
✔️ Make sure tools are properly sterilized or come from a sealed package.
✔️ Avoid cutting cuticles, they help protect against infection.
✔️ Skip foot razors. Ask for a gentle file or pumice stone instead.
⚠️ Important Safety Reminders
✔️ Avoid gel pedicures too frequently, as they can weaken nails and make it harder to spot nail changes.
✔️ Wear flip-flops in public showers, locker rooms, and around pool areas.
✔️ Speak up if a service feels painful, pedicures should never cause bleeding or broken skin.
🌞 Aftercare
✔️ Moisturize your hands, cuticles, and feet daily.
✔️ Apply sunscreen to the tops of your feet when wearing sandals.
✔️ Watch for redness, swelling, drainage, or increasing pain after a manicure or pedicure and seek medical attention if these occur.

Veggie sushi is one of my favorite foods of all time!🥢
When we go out to eat, it's one of my go-to vegan options, and many times we'll make a meal of it with a bowl of warm miso soup on the side. The only downside? Restaurant sushi can get pretty expensive.
That's why I love making it at home! Not only does it save money, but you can customize it with all of your favorite veggies. I like loading mine up with crunchy carrots, cucumber, avocado, and whatever else I have in the refrigerator. It's fresh, colorful, fun to make, and absolutely delicious.
If you've never tried making sushi at home, don't be intimidated. Once you get the hang of rolling, it's easier than you might think!
