I've decided I'm just going to start sharing the random conversations, advice, questions, etc. that I encounter as a pitching coach from kids aged 7- college. They play everything from rec, rec all star, alliance, school ball, and all levels of travel. It will be all things related to pitching and what coaches, players and parents go through!

We'll call it PROWESS POINTERS....the inaugural post....

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES ever should you slow your body down to throw a change up!! If someone tells you to do this, DON'T!

Seems obvious, right? Nope! Had a player tell me her coach wants her to slow her body down to throw a change up. If you do this, you might as well holler out "hey batter, I'm throwing you a change up, go ahead and sit on it so you can drive it!"

Do any of my Tuesday or Wednesdays at 6 or 7 want to permanently switch for Thursday at 6?!? Thanks!!

One of the biggest issues buzzing around softball right now is the lack of knowledgeable coaches, politics, favoritism, inability to pitch call, etc. that kills player's confidence and is driving kids to skip playing school ball and only play travel.

I wanted to share a little story to hopefully remind athletes that your worth isn't determined by one coach. Don't let a bad coach kill the love of the game you have. In the big scheme of things, high school ball means nothing when it comes to playing college ball!

Two months ago she has a high school coach tell her she isn't "varsity material".......fast forward to today......she has a D2 college coach clocking her at a showcase tournament and talking to her travel coach about her!!
