I'll be impatiently waiting for this delivery over the weekend! Excited to add this to my ever-expanding healing toolkit.

I play background music that has different Hz levels in it that work with lowering stress, anxiety, and helping to focus when I do in-person healing (and just when I need wordless music during my every day comings and goings), so it'll be interesting to see how these will be integrated. Sound healing is an interesting field to dig around in and it has so many beneficial aspects.

Chakra balancing and resonance work with these should be interesting!

Any of my spiritual friends want to chime in and give me some ideas as to why, when I talk/interact with certain people, I experience hearing loss in my right ear?

This time of year, SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) starts rearing its ugly head. It's important that we try to find "little wins" that work best for us and our situations - not everything is going to be the perfect fit for every person.

It was around this time last year that I reached out for help because I realized I was getting swamped by wave after wave and needed a life raft to keep me afloat. Vitamin D supplements and trying to find any available stray sun beam throughout my day like a lazy housecat seems to be the right combination for me.

Healing keeps you humble.

I have *always* gotten at least half a dozen messages from guides and random interlopers at every energy session for the last 5 years. But not last night!

According to my healer, she did some serious work on me and had a whole audience of spiritual assistants. She went to get my print-outs and came back to the room, only to be informed that she wasn't allowed to give me my summary and needed to give me a different write-up completely.

The description of what she had done during my session sounded fascinating and I wanted to look up the process, the names of the helpers - nope. Nada. Not gonna happen, champ.

We both were a little stunned and confused because this has never happened with me before. (Granted, someone did pop into her a few sessions ago to call me a "big dork" and it was rightly deserved.)

I like knowing things. I enjoy digging to the bottom of the knowledge well and then scooping out more bits to sift through. Getting the directive that I got really put things into perspective and I've realized that I've already started to do this in my day-to-day. I've got a lot of plates spinning at the moment and this time last year, I'd be worrying over every single one of them - wondering if one looked like it was starting to wobble or if one was balanced correctly. Now? If one plate stops spinning - oh well, pick it back up and get it going again.

I am doing better than I think I am. As Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar once said, "Be humble. Sit down."

Some big things are in the works and to say that I'm excited would be an understatement!

A good mantra for a Monday!

There's a particular login screen that spells disaster for that particular person or location and three of us all got it this morning, so this is definitely something I'm going to be saying on repeat until I clock out this afternoon.

My birthday is February 13th and using the Celtic zodiac, that’d make me…a Rowan!

Well, if that isn’t just the most interesting discovery of my whole day…

It’s been a minute, huh?

This page was my first foray into the world of holistic healing and energy work, as Spark Awaken. It fit my feelings and vibe at the time, like the ignition point of a much bigger vision that I was starting to see and build around.

I took some time away from this aspect of my life to focus on cases of the paranormal and High Strangeness and that fulfilled a large part of what I felt was missing. The entire time, the healing work kept poking and nudging and asking “hey, so…when are we getting the band back together?” And I never had a concrete answer.

Spending time with my shamanic family, learning and observing their paths through this world, talking with every open ear and mind, telling everyone “I’m pretty great at wearing two hats at once,” seemed like enough! Healing work comes naturally to me so why press the issue?! I can go hunt ghosts and cryptids and do a quick energy fix at the same time!

It wasn’t until an experience visiting the stables where my aunt’s horse lives and meeting him and all of his compatriots (along with the resident horse groom ghost) that I realized how deeply and desperately I missed this very part of my life. I am now the proud owner of a horse acupressure manual and I think I’ve effectively tanked my Amazon algorithm entirely.

So I come back to you all, hat in hand, to say “long time, no see!” I’ve done a bit of a rebrand over the past couple of weeks, needing a way to blend what I’ve learned and what feels right in my bones. Rowan Root Holistic Works is exactly that.

The rowan tree’s spiritual meaning centers on protection, insight, wisdom, courage, and resilience. The tree acts as a connection to the Spirit World. The tree wards off negative energy. It is sacred in both Celtic and Nordic mythologies, something I have come to treasure and adopt in my healing practice.

I am deepening my knowledge of both energy and shamanic healing by expanding into working with horses AND humans. I can tell that other four- and two-legged creatures will be joining the mix eventually, but my focus at the moment is the connection between horses and their humans.
