Fowler and Family Working Dogs

We are very grateful that we have had the opportunity recently to receive a grant from the to help cover expenses from the training that Dubai and I went to earlier this year in California!

Traveling to trainings/seminars is essential for having a well rounded search and rescue dog so they get exposed to different scenarios and different environments and the stressors of travel. While we also get the opportunity to network with handlers from across the united states and the world.

As a member of an all volunteer team the costs of seminars and traveling to seminars and the on-going care of our K9s falls on us. so grants like these help more than you will ever know with the expenses of training a dog to become and stay an operational search partner for many years.

Besides this recent grant we are also grateful for the healthcare grant that we received for Berlin in the past as well.

The faces of happy area live find dogs who had some great motivationals runs with Tess and Nina today out in MHK.

My favorite moment was a very funny but extremely happy Dubai, even with a stick that was stuck to his butt while he was giving his bark and hold at his “lost” person. The stick was attached until he was done getting rewarded and then he finally noticed it attached to his butt and asked for help with the removal process 😂  it looks like an antenna 😂

Berlin and I had a great time down in Wichita this past week for the American Mantrailing, Police & Work Dog Association ASLF and HRD seminar!

Didn’t get too many photos except for one at the night search day and a few on the last day at a dinosaur theme park. thank you to Nadine and Michael for an awesome seminar ❤️😊

What it’s like having a dog that their favorite reward for search and rescue is the little squeaky pigs and other similar toys. Gotta get the dirt off of them to make sure they are ready for the problem/search/training!

Kinda happy I have a not so destructive dog 😂

Even though I don’t post about him as much, Fowler is still out here doing his thing at 12 years old! usually getting in his once a week therapy dog visit! Besides that he’s mostly enjoying a semi retired life enjoying hikes, some agility (he loves the SAR agility equipment) and learning some new tricks and reviewing known ones but mostly just enjoying the old man life!

How does Berlin celebrate a good practice search? Rolling in the snow as we walk back to the car 😂
