Completed this quilt recently for a customer that collected Tee Shirts from Hard Rock Cafe's all over the world. She was thrilled with the results. I used a quilt as you go process and learned to use a cover strip method. Fascinating. I would absolutely do this process again.

CIRCLES.....This is called Less Than Traditional. I used a bunch of scraps and made 8 inch 4 patches to make most of these. No binding, and you just add more circles to make it the right size. Loads of fun!!!!

Made this quilt in 3 days for my husband. 41st Anniversary. He has this thing about ducks. I've collected these over the years and finally gathered them up and put this together. Actually surprised myself with how quickly everything worked out.

So, I have not been sitting around idle. I've been building a memory quilt. The finished size will be approx. 60 X 70. I'm using a quilt as you go process. Each block was quilted first, then the blocks are being put together using the light blue fabric here on the front and a darker blue on the back. It is completely reversible, and the blocks on the reverse side are the same shirts, but different order. Interesting to put together. This was kind of an experiment to start with, so that I could use this method with some other memory quilts I need to make.

While this seems sad, it brought joy to a family. About 10 days before Christmas, a gentleman contacted me to ask if I could make memory pillows from mens' shirts. Of course I can, and he wanted 8 of them for Christmas gifts. They went to family members that loved the man that had passed away. There is an embroidered patch on each shirt that says:
This is a shirt
I used to wear
And when you hold it
I'll be there.
