Not my standard job, but still had the standard safety process...good ropes and harness and safety gear....just for the record, I did trim some branches away from the roof while I was up there! 🥳

As a certified arborist, I determined that this white pine tree died due to a prolonged state of shock.

(Honestly, this was done by the woodpeckers; I didn't do any enhancements to make it look more like a face!)

Last Friday, I had the opportunity to participate in Career Day at Prairieview Elementary School. I was able to display a variety of my tools for the students to see and explain what an arborist does. We talked about tree trimming, complete tree removals, and ways we help keep trees healthy.
I also got to show the kids how some of my climbing equipment works and even did a small climbing demonstration for them. It was a fun morning sharing a little bit about the tree industry with the students!

Every year for Arbor Day I look forward to giving kids a way to experience trees. The rope ladder climb has been a favorite for years now. Last night was a little chilly, but we still had a crowd of kids lined up for the ladder climb. I deeply appreciate all the volunteers that helped make this possible. Special thanks to Warehouse Climbing Co who loaned harnesses so the extra little kids could climb!

This week, Isaac and I were able to do our 4-part soil injection for a big row of spruce trees that had to get transplanted. This soil injection is a turbo boost for the micro-biology in the soil to produce sustainable nutrients for the trees and aid in absorption for the roots. Dogwood Hills hired My Tree Climber to give this boost to these trees. They did an excellent job preparing the trees, transplanting, and mulching. (Notice the mulch is away from the trunk, but mounded up to retain future watering).

We removed several large, aging beech trees that had become hollow at a campground. With structures nearby, everything had to be taken down in sections using a large crane. It took a lot of careful planning and coordination—I'm grateful to work with the team at Crane Industrial and the crew on the ground who handled an incredible amount of wood. Thanks, Isaac, Micah, and Kaiden!

This sugar maple is old and very tall. It also had this section of die back 60 feet up the trunk. The customer wanted to keep the tree but also mitigate risk to the house. So I climbed almost 90 feet up in this tree to carefully reduce the crown. Now there is much less weight above the dieback spot on the trunk. The tree is happy, and so is the house!
