Twin Sycamore Farms, LLC

Here to grow. Here to steward the land. Here to provide real food. Twin Sycamore Farms is a new company, born out of a rich family heritage of farming.

We exist to provide clean and wholesome meats, produce and grains to the people of our hometown and surrounding communities. We count it the highest honor to be food providers, and take that responsibility seriously. Stewardship of the land we have been given is a priority for our company, as has been our family tradition since 1836. Please, don’t hesitate to contact us and see what Twin Sycamore has to offer you.

Have you been seeing posts about lab grown meat in your social media feed? We have. It's something we want nothing to do with! It's so important to fuel your body with nutritious food, and unfortunately commercial food chains are not reliable. Buying local means you can personally call the person who raised your chicken with any questions at any time and get an honest answer.
We are so excited and passionate about raising chickens in a way that feeds our community with high quality meat!
Our chickens are fed non-GMO feed and raised on a organically grown hay field which gives them a complex diet and extra nutrients. They are treated ethically while they are in our care and we take a lot of pride in our finished product.

We have a limited number of chickens available to claim for pick up August 5th! They are $25 per chicken and average 4.5lb-5.5lbs each. Pick up in Pittsboro or Goshen.

Message me to claim!

I have 50 whole chickens available for pre-order! These go super fast, so message me if you want them.

$25/chicken and they are between 4.5-5.5lbs each. Our chickens are fed non-GMO feed and raised on pasture in our non-sprayed hay field! You pay 50% up front and the remaining balance at pick up. The chickens will be given to you frozen in a shrink wrapped package.

They will be ready the first week of August! Message to claim or with questions!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT:

We are going to be away from the for the next 4 weeks!
This wasn't our original plan but with our stored produce waning and a baby getting very close to arrival we've decided to take the short break.

We will be back!
The last week of April (unless the baby 👶 make its appearance) we will be back to the market with all your spring plants and greens!

We want to thank all our customers who have made the 2023 - 2024 season great and we will see you in a few weeks!

Crispy Parmesan Carrots 03/13/2024

We have lots of carrots right now, and this is something we have been enjoying! It’s a pretty versatile recipe, so feel free to get creative with it! Swap out cheeses for different flavor profiles. We will have carrots at the Goshen Farmers Market this weekend, 8-1!

Crispy Parmesan Carrots These Crispy Parmesan Carrots are my new favorite way to eat carrots! They’re coated in a smoky spice rub then roasted with a cheesy crispy parmesan crust

Hey Goshen friends! We won’t be at the market tomorrow. We have lots to do on the farm and we needed to be here working. We will see you soon!

Curried Butternut Squash Soup 03/02/2024

We love warming spices like curry combined with sweet winter squash like butternut. If you're shopping at the Goshen Farmers Market right now, you're most likely seeing a ton of butternut or buttercup squash. Here's a yummy way to use up a couple butternut/cup squashes and take them off your farmer's hands! ;)

A few edits:
-I use chicken broth instead of vegetable broth
-I prefer full fat coconut milk rather than lite
-I use normal onions instead of shallots because that's what I normally have around
-We don't like sweet butternut squash soup, so I would only use 3 Tablespoons of maple syrup called for in this recipe
-I've never used the chili garlic paste, but if you have it, use it!

You can lower the number of servings on this website, which is super convenient! I increase the number because I like to freeze some extra servings for a quick meal.

Curried Butternut Squash Soup How's the weather where you are? Is it cooling down yet? If so, I have just the thing. If not, let's pretend it's rainy and cold and you're in desperate

Butternut Squash Banana Blender Muffins 02/28/2024

Here's a great way to use up butternut squash you may have laying around! Our kids love this recipe and it's a great way to sneak in orange veggies! These freeze super well for school lunches too.

I like to use squash that is getting wrinkly skin or I've had around for a little too long. I also use butter instead of olive/coconut oil. Enjoy!

Butternut Squash Banana Blender Muffins Butternut Squash Banana Blender Muffins are quick & easy to whip up in your blender, veggie-loaded, & is the perfect healthy breakfast recipe! Dairy-free and easily gluten free or vegan.

This is farming with kids. I (Taylor) am so grateful that will take the time out of his work plans for the afternoon to mix up mud paint with Abe. The high tunnel is as close to a beach vacation as we got this year- it’s about 10 degrees warmer than the outdoor temp in there! Abe said it’s practically summer!

02/23/2024

Look at all of those veggies! The week this photo was taken last year during a bountiful time of harvest. Can't wait for the coming year!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who signed up for the 2024 subscription season! We are sold out for the season, but please contact us to get on a wait list!

The garlic beds are looking good! You can't see them in this picture, but there are little tiny shoots poking through the straw.

Garlic is a fun crop to plant because it's a big push to get in the ground in the fall before the ground freezes solid. It gets pushed in freshly worked up ground, then covered with dirt and straw. The bulb will sit underground doing it's thing all winter. The second we start getting sunshine and the tiniest bit of warmth, a sprout will poke out of the top of the garlic bulb and they will search out the sunshine by shooting up above the straw.

As spring and summer arrive, a tall plant will grow and a "scape" will shoot out of the center. A scape is a curly thin piece that actually tastes incredible. It can be used in pesto, chopped into cooked dishes, etc. You'll see those pop up at our farmer's market stand and subscription boxes. We remove the scape because if it's left on the plant, the plant will send all it's energy to the scape and not to the bulb which makes for teeny garlic cloves.

Eventually the time will come when it's time to pull the plants and chop the garlic bulb off the plant. We then store them in crates to sell through the year and we use our own garlic to replant for next year. Then it all begins again.

We are super thankful to have these mountains of leaves from the city of Goshen! Leaves make great compost, and the city collects a lot of them through the fall. These piles will compost through the summer and next winter- we can start using it spring of 2025.

02/03/2024

These are curly kale plants from last summer. We plant them in the spring and harvest stems off of them all season into the late fall/early winter. I always think they look like trees from a Dr Suess book when they’re stripped down like this! Just another glimpse of winter on the farm.

02/01/2024

Sundays on the farm are sacred for us. Saturday afternoon into Sunday evening are deliberately kept open for spending intentional time with these two cuties and making plans with friends. We enjoy a morning at church with our amazing community which we are so grateful for.

Produce farming (well, any farming) is really hard work. Sometimes it wears us down or feels discouraging because the weather is against us or we got behind, or we just get plain tired. Making the commitment to truly resting Saturday evening and Sunday has made such a difference for us.

We hope you enjoy your snowy Sunday and thanks for supporting this small family farm!

01/21/2024

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the today despite the snowy weather! We are so grateful to all of our customers. We plan to be at the Goshen Farmer's market all winter with expanded sourdough baked goods and organically grown produce!

If you love what you see at our stand, check out our 2024 farmer's choice subscription boxes! We are currently signing up new customers and would love to have you join in!

Brr it's a cold one in Indiana today! Weather like this has us dreaming of summer nights picking tomatoes. Believe it or not, winter isn't as much of a "break" for produce farmer's as you'd think. There's seed planning, projects that got put off in the summer, organization of tools and equipment, and more going on behind the scenes. We have some spots left in our home delivery route for the upcoming season! Message us for details!

01/15/2024

Sign up today for farm fresh produce delivered to your door! Our farm offers Farmer's Choice Subscription boxes which are filled with seasonal produce, all delivered to your door weekly! Message us for details!

It’s the week before thanksgiving and all the farmers in Goshen spent their day Friday harvesting, baking and packing. They were filled with hope at the idea of their vegetables filling the tables of their farmers market customers as they celebrate thanksgiving and share with family and friends. (Ok, that’s as far as my creativity goes today 😂) Shop local this fine Saturday and make all of our dreams come true! 8-1 today and 3-7 Tuesday.

11/17/2023

We have some gorgeous sourdough bagels coming to tomorrow! Sharp cheddar, everything bagel seasoning and cinnamon sugar. Made with organic ingredients and flour.
