Was grateful to have the opportunity to spend time with some of the students for the start of Read Across America Week!
It is such a privilege to be able to have the opportunity to invest in our youth. Awesome to see some of our team joining in on the fun as well! đź‘®

Thirty-one years ago, I was drafted to play professional baseball by the Houston Astros.
Like many young people chasing a dream, I thought I knew exactly where that path would lead. Instead, it led me here — to a career of service and the privilege of leading and serving this amazing community.
This week, I had the honor of throwing out a first pitch at the City of Goodyear, AZ USA Ballpark for the Cincinnati Reds Spring Training game to represent the Goodyear Police Department for Public Safety Appreciation Day — 31 years later. It was a full-circle moment, not about what might have been, but about gratitude for the journey.
To the young athletes and future leaders in our community: your dreams matter. Even if the path changes, the lessons you learn — discipline, teamwork, resilience — will carry you forward.
Thank you for allowing me to serve alongside you. ⚾️

Very proud of Officer Dakota Berry for being named the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP) Officer of the Year, recognizing his heroic actions in saving a young woman from a vehicle that was engulfed in flames on the I-10.
He was in the right place at the right time and acted the way I know any of our officers would have in the face of danger.
Congratulations, Officer Berry!!

I can’t imagine having the honor to have known Dr. King. He led with integrity, spoke with compassion and conviction, and modeled leadership through love and a true servant’s heart.
Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. means more than just remembering—it means continuing to build trust, promoting justice, and caring for one another every day.

The past several weeks has been an amazing opportunity to be surrounded by people who lead with vision, humility, and purpose.
From spending time at discussing “the basics” to being part of the West Valley Public Safety Panel at representing the , my perspective continues to be stretched and sharpened.

What an amazing way to usher in the new year…
The Patriot Golf Tournament put on by the West Valley Mavericks Foundation is one of the best events in town. The top college amateur golfers in the country come together at the Wigwam Golf Resort to compete in a 3-day tournament…the best part is…they all carry a bag that represents a military service member or first responder who lost their life in the line of duty, reflecting respect and a commitment to never forget those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
We also were able to hear one of the best “pre-game” speeches I’ve ever heard from Cody Alford and listen to amazing music from Aaron Nichols who performed after the round on Tuesday night.
Grateful the Goodyear Police Department could be on hand to meet with our community during this special event!
Thank you, Mavericks, for helping start the year with purpose and pride!
