FREEWAY IS OUT OF ANIMAL CONTROL! 🩵
Freeway officially left animal control yesterday and headed straight to his foster home.
Before he left, the officers took him to the vet to get answers about his skin. He was diagnosed with demodectic mange, which is not contagious. Knowing exactly what he is dealing with means he can now receive the care he needs.
For the first time in a long time, Freeway has a comfortable place to rest, recover, and begin feeling like a dog again.
Thank you to the officers for advocating for him and making sure he got the veterinary care he needed. Thank you to his foster family for stepping up without hesitation and committing to helping him heal. ❤️

LUNA UPDATE: Our brave girl is out of surgery! 🐾❤️
We are so relieved to share that Luna’s tail amputation surgery went great. While a traumatic injury like this is the last thing you ever want to see happen to a 13 week old puppy, she is now officially on the road to a pain free, happy life.
A huge thank you to Dr. Tyler and the team at Middleton Veterinary Clinic. When we called this morning with a puppy whose tail injury could not wait, they got Luna in right away and took excellent care of her. We are incredibly grateful.
Thank you to our volunteer, Lark, for dropping everything this morning to get Luna to the clinic and stay by her side.
And thank you to everyone who donated toward Luna’s care. Your support helps ensure that when emergencies happen, dogs like Luna can receive the medical treatment they need without delay.
Luna is now back home with her foster family, resting comfortably and starting her recovery. We can’t wait to watch this resilient little girl heal and get back to doing what puppies do best.

💖 ANOTHER FREEDOM RIDE 💖
SKYLAR HAS OFFICIALLY LEFT THE BUILDING!
After being the longest resident at Gary Animal Control, Skylar finally got her chance today. She walked out of those doors and straight into her foster home, and her foster family fell in love instantly.
After spending far too long waiting in a kennel, this sweet girl finally has a soft place to rest and the fresh start she has always deserved.
Thank you to the officers for keeping her safe, and to everyone who shared her story to make today possible.
Happy Freedom Day, Skylar. 💖🐾

We hate having to make posts like this.
Tonight, Luna, one of our 13 week old puppies, suffered a traumatic tail injury. We don’t know exactly how it happened, but the injury was severe enough that bone and nerves are exposed. Thankfully, her foster noticed immediately that something was wrong and acted quickly. After consulting with our veterinarian, Luna was started on pain medication, her tail was bandaged, and she is resting comfortably tonight while being closely monitored.
Tomorrow, Luna will need a tail amputation. Our emergency medical fund was heavily depleted after treating a recent parvo case, and we are still trying to recover from that expense. Unfortunately, this happened at a time when our funds are already stretched thin.
Luna is just a baby. Tomorrow, she needs surgery, and we need your help to make that possible.

Every donation will go directly toward Luna’s care. If you can’t donate, please share. Thank you to Luna’s foster for recognizing immediately that something was wrong and for taking such good care of her tonight. We will keep everyone updated on her surgery and recovery.

🎉 💙 ADOPTED: NARDO 💙 🎉
When he came into foster care, we promised him we would keep going until we found the right family. Today, that promise became a reality.
His foster family never gave up on him. They opened their home, gave him stability, loved him through the waiting, and helped him become the dog we always knew he could be. Because of them, Nardo got the chance he deserved.
And now he has what he’s been waiting for all along, a family of his own.
Thank you to his adopters for choosing him and giving him the life every dog should have. Thank you to his fosters for believing in him every step of the way.
Nardo, we couldn’t be happier for you. Enjoy your new family, your new adventures, and the home you’ve always deserved. ❤️
