IT'S BRISTOL, BABY! At this very race in 2024, David Janac drove to victory in the Janac Brothers Racing COPO. The year before, it was Aaron Stanfield with the same car in the 2023 Factory Stock Showdown winner's circle. We'd sure looooooove to see Stanfield Racing Engines power in that same spot again at this awesome race. Let's go, boys!

The boss goes Pro Mod racing 👀
MOORESVILLE, NC (June 9, 2026) – Modern Racing, Inc. and Elite Motorsports announced today a permanent driver change for the ProFlow Pumping Solutions/Modern Racing/Elite Motorsports Pro Modified entry, confirming that standout driver Aaron Stanfield will take over the driver's seat for the duration of the 2026 JBS Equipment NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by Elite Motorsports.
The transition comes on the heels of Mason Wright's decision to step away from full-time competition behind the wheel. Wright, who operates Shaneda Machine, Inc. in Odessa, TX, determined that the growth of his business portfolio requires his complete focus.
"Oilfields run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and so do the people who work in them," Wright shared on social media. "That work ethic has carried over into everything I've done, including drag racing. But as our businesses continue to grow, they require my full-time attention. This decision allows me to focus on family, our companies, and the future we're building together."
Justin Elkes, owner of Modern Racing, expressed total support for Wright while highlighting the strength of their internal racing infrastructure.
"We fully support Mason and wish him nothing but the absolute best as he shifts his primary focus to his family and his rapidly expanding business priorities" said Elkes. "At the same time, we are incredibly excited to promote from within our Elite Team alliance by having Aaron Stanfield step in to handle the driving duties for the remainder of the season. His proven talent and recent Pro Modified success make him the perfect fit to step in and keep our momentum moving forward."
Richard Freeman, owner of Elite Motorsports, also expressed his appreciation for Wright and the foundation he helped build within the program.
“We can’t thank Mason enough for the incredible amount of time, dedication, and resources he’s poured into this program,” Freeman said. “He’s been a tremendous part of what we’ve built, both on and off the racetrack, and we fully support him as he focuses on his family and businesses. The door will always be open here at Elite Motorsports. If and when Mason is ready to get back behind the wheel, he’ll always have a place with us.”
Stanfield, a multi-time NHRA world champion across several categories, is prepared to carry the torch for the team starting at the upcoming Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway, scheduled for June 12–14. Stanfield proved his elite capability in a Pro Mod earlier this year with a spectacular $150,000 victory at the prestigious World Series of Pro Mod event in Bradenton, Florida.
"It’s an honor to get the call to represent ProFlow Pumping Solutions, Modern Racing, and Elite Motorsports for the rest of the year," Stanfield said. "Pro Mod is an absolute blast and incredibly competitive. Coming off the big win in Bradenton earlier this year, I feel confident we can give this team a great showing at Bristol along with the rest of the season.”

We're gearing up for the Thunder Valley Nationals and the return of the Flexjet NHRA Factory Stock Showdown weekend after next, but first, the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series tour is headed to Epping, New Hampshire, for the New England Nationals, June 5-7. Good luck to our fearless leaders out there at the NHRA New England Nationals in Pro Stock — Aaron Stanfield in the JHG/Melling/Janac Brothers Racing Chevy and Greg Stanfield driving the Janac Brothers Racing Camaro.
Fun facts to know and share: Aaron won Epping in 2021 over Greg Anderson and was runner-up there in 2022 to Elite Motorsports teammate Erica Enders.
The Stanfield Racing Engines shop will be humming, but we'll be sure to keep an eye on the race in Epping, too. After last weekend's performance in Maryland, we're all chomping at the bit to see how it goes down in Pro Stock this coming race and, well, the rest of the season.
The Janac Brothers (David and Joe) suggest you stay tuned!

While Stanfield Racing Engines customers are getting it done in other parts of the country, Greg and Aaron Stanfield are doing work in Pro Stock at Maryland International Raceway at the Inaugural NHRA Potomac Nationals. On Saturday, dad Greg claimed the No. 1 qualifier (his first since 2009) and son Aaron won the Mission NHRA Challenge. They're set for Sunday on opposite sides of the ladder..... could another father-and-son final be in the wings? We shall soon see. Great job out there, fellas!

Lee Hartman is taking it to the semis here at the Ge**er Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals! Hartman’s .027 reaction time in his Carrier Services Group Drag Pak came with a stout 7.727, 180.65 to top a 7.738, 177.14 from Alex Anderson. Hartman will race Jason Dietsch and his Cobra Jet Mustang in the next round.
Doug Duell’s 7.737, 174.96 in his DLD Motorsports Drag Pak gave Jonathan Allegrucci and his Cobra Jet a challenge, but ultimately it was a 7.706 in the opposite lane that ended Duell's weekend in the second round. Great job to Doug, Kevin Helms, Max, and Lane. On to the next!
The semis are scheduled to take place after the first round of the pros today, so stay tuned.
