Make plans to come join us in Downtown Gadsden May 8th and 9th!
The City of Gadsden and the Alabama Visual Arts Network invite you to participate in the Alabama Arts Trail on Broad event in Gadsden, Alabama, May 8th - 9th.
The Alabama Arts Trail is a statewide initiative that connects the public with Alabama’s visual artists and the places where creative work is made and shared. It encourages exploration within local communities while attracting visitors from across the state and beyond, helping artists reach new audiences, build meaningful connections, and create opportunities for engagement and sales. We invite you as an artist to demonstrate your work, sell your work, network with other artists, and support the arts in Alabama. All artists working across the visual arts media, including sculpture, photography, painting, ceramics, and more, are invited to participate.
This will be a rain or shine event.
FRIDAY, MAY 8TH
Artists/organizations will be invited to set up on Broad Street in downtown Gadsden. Tents will be provided for participants. The first half of Friday’s schedule will be demonstrations for students to experience different art careers, with the second half of the day for artists to share their work with the public. A reception will be held at the Gadsden Museum of Art featuring artwork curated by the Alabama Contemporary Art Center and Stacey Holloway.
Throughout the festival, there will be performances by local dance studios, bands, and a free concert at the Mary G. Hardin Center for the Cultural Arts.
SATURDAY, MAY 9TH
Participating artists will have the opportunity to sell their work at our Mother’s Day Market. Demonstrations will also be held on Saturday, along with a portfolio review and critiques by the JSU Art Department. The requirements for the review will be posted soon! Stay tuned!

The Cardinal Arts Journal had a blast at John Jones Elementary this morning, learning about poetry and becoming poets! These smart kiddos gave their very first poetry reading! Thank you to Mrs. Weaver's First Grade class for the poetry, giggles, and hugs!
