🌟 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with ATAX's Growth Director Beto Contreras 🌟

Beto’s journey is deeply intertwined with the roots of his parents, who moved from Morelia, Michoacán to Salinas, California in the 1980s. His father, who came on work permits as a teenager, built a foundation that honors their heritage and traditions. In California, where the Hispanic culture thrives, that heritage remains strong.
For Beto’s family, food is at the heart of every celebration. From tamales and menudo to carne asada, jalapenos, rice, beans, and tortillas, the family gathers to feast during special occasions, always celebrating. Beto and his family enjoy a great hot sauce and find it goes well on everything! Every Christmas, the smell of homemade pozole fills the air, a tradition that brings everyone together.
Here’s a snapshot of Beto’s family—full of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and grandparents—all united by their love of food, family, and tradition. Family is everything, and they work hard to ensure that the next generation continues to speak Spanish, staying connected to their roots and able to communicate with their elders.
Through music like José José, Los Bukis, Selena, and modern favorites like Banda MS, Fuerza Regida, Peso Pluma, and Natanael Cano, Beto’s family proudly celebrates their heritage and honors the past while embracing the future.
