Super sketchy, but it worked to get the magnetic spinner up and running again, with overnighted parts from Mouser. Gonna give it a clean, install and reassemble the new potentiometer, then it's back into service!

The venerable old magnetic spinner is no longer working, time to put it on the healing bench to see if I can bring it back, otherwise I'm going shopping

Laser stuff today, customer needs a low quantity of stainless shims in various thicknesses. I'm pretty inexperienced with a fiber laser but I'm happy with the results!

Dialed in. Holding tenths in hardened stainless steel.

Solved! Y2 motor connection was loose. This little DIN connector was not clicked into place, and worked it's way off. I cleaned it, put it on properly, and it works! Now to reassemble, because I took a lot of sheet metal off before I found this.

S206 just went down, of course right after the service department closes for the week. If anyone has any insight on SOFTTHERMAL alarms and EXCESS ERROR alarms, please reach out, this started mid-production run

If anyone knows where to get one of these fuses on a Saturday, I would really really appreciate it, the shop currently doesn't have 3 phase power because of it

Anyone have any tips on breaking a chip in Grade 2 Titanium? I can't show the part, but it's a "dog-bone" part with a long, thin section in the middle, and larger diameters on the end. I've tried different inserts and tools, high speeds, low speeds, high feeds, low feeds, oscillation cutting, high pressure oil, etc. and so far I still need to stop the machine on every part to clear chips. I have a lot of these to do, so really hoping to make the process more reliable.

Running 80/20 Tungsten/Copper today on some prototypes, this should be very interesting...

It's finally here!!! New Core One 3D printer just arrived. Have to get some parts shipped to clear some space, but then I can start building. Looking forward to having a new, fully enclosed printer in the shop.

Haven't posted in a while, but been very very busy. Working on some tiny little pure molybdenum pins today.

Testing out some new PH Horn boring bars in 17-4 H900 stainless steel. Pretty solid surface finish especially considering I'm running it much more aggressively than the old Micro 100 bars I've been using. This is one of their new boring bars with a built-in chip breaker.
