Opening Day 2026

And yeah… the world sees a regular season debut.

But we see the kid…

We see the early mornings.
We see the rebounder battles.
We see the FaceTime talks.

The quiet work when nobody was clapping.

The setbacks.
The injuries.
The moments where it would’ve been easier to walk away.

We watched the doubt try to creep in…
We watched the resilience push back harder.

And now here he is, stepping on a Major League field as the 2026 Season Opens Up!

Not just because of talent.
But because of character.

Here’s what hits the deepest…

This moment doesn’t define him… It reveals him.

Because he was already enough before the jersey, before the crowd, before the lights.

The discipline.
The humility.
The way he shows up for people.
The way he keeps going when things don’t go his way.

That’s what made this moment inevitable.

And that’s WHY this story matters.

Not because he made it.
But because of who he became along the way.

Proud is an understatement… Grateful is more the word. Grateful to walk alongside him on the journey all these years.

This is what it looks like to cherish the challenge.

And the best part?

The impact he’s making goes way beyond the field.

Let this be a reminder to every kid, every parent, every person in the middle of their own fight:

You don’t need the spotlight to have value.
You don’t need the stats to be enough…

Do the work.
Grow through the struggle.
Become the person God is refining you to be.

The rest will take care of itself.

Time to Shine Chase!

One game at a time…
One inning at a time…
One at bat at a time…
One pitch at a time…

Just be YOU… because YOU are already enough.

Happy Birthday to the one who made me a Dad.

Love you more than you will ever know Aria!
Beyond proud of the young lady you are growing to be.

Keep shining
Keep putting Christ first.
You are ENOUGH!

There was a time I thought this moment was so far away.
Senior night felt like something only older athletes talked about… something that belonged to “later.”

And then suddenly… it was here.

Walking with my grandparents, soaking in a moment I didn’t fully understand at the time… but one I’d give anything to slow down and be in that moment again.

To the freshmen who think they have forever…
To the seniors who feel the clock speeding up…

Time doesn’t ask for permission. It just keeps moving.

So be where your feet are.
Look around a little longer.
Take the mental picture.
Hug your people.
Stay present.

Because one day you’ll look back and realize the moments you thought were ordinary… were actually the ones that shaped you the most.

Soak it in.
Every rep.
Every game.

Every moment beside the people who helped you get there.

Cherish the Challenge.

Snow Day Memories

So ready for this snow to be gone… but on the other hand… there are only so many opportunities to make those magical snow day memories.

Making the most of the times I get…
Being where my feet are…
Creating magical moments…

Turn the phones off
Turn the news off
Turn the work emails off

And pour into the main team right in front of you

Alright… help me settle this.

Caricature A or B?
Forge coach or shepherd coach?

Vote in the comments and tell me what you see.
I’m genuinely curious which one resonates more.

February 2020.
Moving Mountains Speaker Series at FCC.

I found this photo in my camera roll and laughed when I saw the slide behind me:

“Sometimes you have to pivot.”

At the time, I had no idea how literal that statement was about to become.

What felt like just a bullet point turned into a defining reality.

Plans changed.
Certainty disappeared.
Control was stripped away.

And yet… the lesson still holds today.

We still have to pivot.
We still have to adjust.
We still have to grow…even when the ground shifts under our feet.

The people who moved forward weren’t the ones with the perfect plan.

They were the ones willing to adapt without losing who they were and more importantly whose they were.

That’s why Cherish the Challenge rings truer than ever.

Because challenge isn’t an interruption to the path.

It IS the path.

I’ve learned that pivoting doesn’t mean God changed His mind…

it often means He’s still shaping ours.

Sometimes the closed door is the guidance.
Sometimes the disruption is the refinement.
And sometimes the challenge is the exact tool He uses to grow us into who we’re meant to become.

Different season.
Same calling.
Still learning to trust.
Still choosing to Cherish the Challenge.

January 11, 2004.
Not just a date. A decision.

As a senior in high school, I realized faith couldn’t live on borrowed belief… icouldn’t believe just because my parents did.

I had to own it.
I had to choose it.
I had to make my own decision.

That day marked death to the old… and a step into new life.

Not perfection… FAR from it… but surrender.

I’ve stumbled. I’ve fallen short.
But I know who is perfect, and He is the one I put my trust in.

The One who designed me with purpose.
The One who walks alongside me with every breath I take.
The One who deserves all the praise.

And looking back now, I can say this with complete conviction…

it has been the best decision I have ever made.

In a world that is loud, shifting, and chaotic, He is steady.
I don’t have to worry, because my future is secure in Him.

My hope.
My joy.
My future.

22 years later… it is still the best decision I have ever made. And every year just affirms it more.

A letter to my younger self…

I know you feel less than.
Not big enough.
Not strong enough.
Not fast enough.

Not Enough…

I know the doubts are loud and comparison feels crushing.
But all of this is part of the plan.

One day, you’ll be able to help people because you walked through this.
The pain.
The pressure.
The insecurity.
None of it is wasted. Every bit will be used for good.

Seek Jesus.
Lean into your faith and build your relationship with Christ.
Make Him the foundation of everything you do.

When things get hard, understand this: hard is where growth happens. James 1:2 says to consider it an opportunity for joy. I know that’s hard to understand… but be joyful.

When you lose your job, know it will become one of the best things that ever happens to you.

When lawsuits are threatened, understand that moment will be the push you need to finally take the leap into what you are feeling God is wanting you to do.

And when you think you’re just starting a gym, realize you’re actually building a place where people can bump into Jesus and be transformed.

You’re not going to be building workouts.
You’re building inflection points in people’s lives.

I know it feels scary, uncertain, and unclear.
Keep pressing in. Keep growing. Keep trusting.

And the funny thing is as I write this…
I hear God whispering to me that this is the exact same advice my future self would give me right now…

So it’s time to show up and make my future self proud.
