In 2010, Frederick’s first Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC) was formed as an ad hoc committee to work toward becoming a Bicycle Friendly Community. In January 2013, a resolution was passed by the Board of Aldermen to formalize the committee and expand the scope of work to address both cyclists and pedestrians in the City of Frederick. On Thursday May 15, take a greener and healthier way to get to work and earn a free T-shirt at more than 100 “pit stop” stations across the DMV. The first 18,000 who register and attend will receive a free commemorative red Bike to Work Day T-shirt and a chance to win a new bike! We are seeking volunteers to serve on the Active Mobility Advisory Committee (AMAC)!!
There are currently four vacancies on the AMAC. Two of the vacancies are for four-year terms and two vacancies will fill terms ending on 05/06/2025. The AMAC advises City officials and staff on opportunities to advance and encourage active alternatives to traveling by car by focusing on safety, convenience and accessibility.
