Team Potomac Metals came together and pulled the plane 10 feet in 7 seconds at the Dulles Plane Pull ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

My annual PSA to get naked!

February 2015 I got my first skin scan. There was some concern due to family history, so figured I should get one done. They found and odd mole and took it out. A few days later, I got the call that it was a malignant melanoma and I need to come back in so they could ensure it was completely removed. A week later was the first time I heard the words โ€œclear marginsโ€ in regards to my own health.

I remember everything about that time. Being in the car driving to work in DC when I got the call and heard โ€œmalignantโ€โ€ฆ the pain train that was riding up the back up my leg when the meds wore offโ€ฆ and all of the love from my family and friends.

What I DONโ€™T remember is the details of all of the skin scans Iโ€™ve had since then (and there have been many!) Getting naked and having someone check every inch of your skin is just not comfortable. However, itโ€™s a moment in time that will go away. Itโ€™s a necessary thing to detect skin cancer when it can be removed and avoid cancer spreading to other parts of your body.

Skin cancer CAN be deadly when you donโ€™t catch it in time and it spreads to other parts of your body. Thatโ€™s why it is so important to get regular skin scans with a dermatologist.

Since Dri Tri is this weekendโ€ฆ thought weโ€™d take a trip down memory lane to my FIRST Dri Tri (March 2019)

Finished the sprint in 41:05 โ€ฆ if Iโ€™m optimistic, Iโ€™m hoping to beat that time tomorrow. But honestly thereโ€™s a part of me that will be completely happy if I just finish it ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
