We finally have our new screen door from Wilson Building Supply installed. I can’t wait until the weather cools in the fall and we can open the doors and windows and now leave the front door open to feel the cool air. This was the perfect addition to our rental cabin in Murphy, North Carolina.

Congratulations - welcome to the family of excellent NC Masons and thank you for continuing a most honorable profession.

The 2022 North Carolina SkillsUSA State Masonry Contest is underway this morning at the Greensboro Coliseum. The contestants paused for a group picture just before the contest began at 8:30.

After several hours of work yesterday afternoon and this morning packing, cleaning, and polishing, NCMCA’s Ryan Shaver has the Mobile Training Rig ready to head to the Greensboro Coliseum Wednesday morning for this week’s North Carolina SkillsUSA State Conference and State Masonry Championship. The masonry competition gets back to normal in 2022 after two years of COVID-19 complications with more than one-hundred masonry students from across the state competing Thursday morning for a chance to represent North Carolina at the June National SkillsUSA Championship in Atlanta. NCMCA has responsibility for contest setup on Wednesday and then tending, judging and cleanup on Thursday.

Today is . Did you know? CRH has 17 sites with Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) certified programs. WHC is a conservation organization that encourages companies to preserve and enhance biodiversity. CRH’s programs range from pollinator gardens and invasive species projects to the creation of native prairie, bird, and wetland habitats. 🦋🦉🦊
Conservation projects do not need to be large to make a difference and the WHC’s motto is “every act of conservation matters”. Even landscaping efforts can be WHC certified by adding native plants for pollinators such as bees and monarch butterflies, and recording if they use the new habitat. For more information about WHC visit https://hubs.la/Q015gtMz0
