Imagine for a moment…
A mom, barely holding it together, earns $20 an hour—a wage she once thought would change everything. But after taxes, it’s just $3,000 a month. Her marriage is gone, and with only $400 in child support, she can’t afford to fight for more. She doesn’t qualify for help, though she desperately needs it.

Tonight, she sits alone, staring at the bills piling up. Her car’s brakes are shot—she needs them fixed for work, but has no way to fix it.
Winter’s coming, and her kids need coats. Her child brings home a field trip form asking for $10, and Christmas is just around the corner. She remembers what it felt like waking up to nothing under the tree, that empty feeling in her moms eyes. Good morning Everyone. I want to thank each and everyone that was able to come out to receive your plate yesterday. We fed a lot of people and I just wished we could have done more.
