2018 World Food Championship's Steak Champion

Photos from Pigs In Zen's post 14/03/2022

Well the World Championships are a wrap. I was lucky enough to qualify into the finals but they didn't like my steak enough and the same in the open. No worries as I also got to see fellow East Coast Steak Mob members Tina Hain and Raz Braz make the finals stage and to see Raz and Tina walk in the final topped the cake. Can't forget that Tom is the new Ancillary World Champion, congrats again. Also Tim and Alex for walking in the open.

There are a few people I need to thank, as always. First my wife Mariuxi for letting me go have fun again without her. Doc Pearl for hauling all the gear and laughs.

DB180 and Will
Texas Select Seasonings and William R. Powell
Mojobricks and Fred Grosse
Günter Wilhelm and GW-David Malek
Thanks Brett Gallaway Ken Phillips Michelle Dang Keith Todd Tim Manley James Sallee Leona O'Donnell Sallee for a fun filled fantastic weekend and a well run event.

The Raz dogs were out in force. Congrats again Raz on a multi call weekend.

Big shout out to the The Andy Warhol Diaries and the inspiration for us this weekend and again to Ed,
Thanks to Christine and Mark for sharing with us
Come on, man

I am sure I missed many and may edit this or not

Finally out for a regular season competition yesterday at
Thanks for the Dot and for the thermopen. Otherwise it was a standard day with 14th and 16th picks.
I thought all 4 steaks I cooked were decent and would have turned my 2nd practice steak in if it were 10 minutes later but its temp started to drop with 10 minutes left for the window to open, so I cut it quick and started the other one. I struggled with this for a minute but it seems that was a good move.
Thanks . for the ride out and congrats on your 4th place call. Rick killed it with a 1st and 3rd and his Golden Ticket. Good to see Carl Harper and his 2nd place finish. Big thanks to Frederick Hain Jr and his win last week allowing his Golden ticket from his win yesterday to pass to me.. Congrats to everybody else who got calls. Congrats to David Paulini on his Scrapple Golden Ticket.. That is legendary
Thanks to Tim Manley and his daughter for the smooth event. I like how diligent she is with steak pick time.... as it should be. Tom and Michele V
for hosting and always good to see Ken Phillips and his better half Leslie Phillips

We also got to welcome Ed Edward H. Gent III to team DB180
I was fortunate to walk away with a 2nd place call and my Golden Ticket to the 2022 SCA World Championships
thanks to Jealous Devil Dead Bird BBQ - DB180 Mojobricks GW-David Malek
special shoutout to Raz Braz for the Raz Dog.. you have no idea how much that was needed and was tasty.. thanks again

Hadn't cooked a competition steak since August and my was lonely so Sunday I tried to remember how this works.
Only a couple months until the World Championships , just enough time to tweak and to keep practicing til you can't get it wrong.
As always thanks to , and

Holiday Bourbon Exchange! Everyone is welcome!

Hey bourbon-drinking/collecting friends let's create some positivity leading up to the holidays.

Anyone interested in a holiday bourbon bottle exchange?!?! I know it is early but I think we could all use some bourbon and fun!! Who doesn't need a distraction from 2020. It doesn't matter where you live, you are welcome to join. You only have to buy *ONE* bottle of bourbon valued at $45 or more and send it to the ONE secret bourbon lover. Afterwards, you will receive anywhere from 6 to 36 bourbon bottles in return!! It all depends how many bourbon drinkers join. Let me know if you are interested and I will send you the information! Please don't ask to participate if you're not going to follow through with sending one bourbon bottle....we'll have lots of sad bourbon drinkers if that's the case!

TIS THE SEASON! Comment below if you're in & I'll send you the details via fb messenger - if they are confusing at all, please let me know! I think we can all use a little fun during this crazy time.
It’s literally just *ONE* bottle. You can order online and have it delivered directly to save on time/effort or if you’re local hand deliver. I can't wait to see what comes our way!

Reconditioning and bench regulation on a Steinway and Sons Grand Piano action.. Reshaped hammers, reduced friction points by removing verdigris, polishing pins, replacing capstan felts and applying lubrication. Key level, dip and all steps done to factory spec. Does your piano need a tune up?

I am pretty sure it does.
