I never thought I’d be the kind of person to ask for help like this—but here I am, doing it anyway.

My name is Noah Rook, and I’m an indie author trying to turn a dream into something tangible. I published my debut poetry book, Soft Things Don’t Last Here, from the deepest parts of me—and now I’m raising funds to keep going.

Writing has been my lifeline. But publishing? It’s expensive. Between printing, marketing, and trying to get my book into more hands and more hearts, I’m hitting walls I can’t break alone.

If you believe in poetry, vulnerability, healing, or just want to support someone fighting to make art in a chaotic world—here’s your chance to be a part of that.

Even $5 helps. Even sharing this helps.

Let’s build something beautiful together.

Thank you. For reading, for supporting, for seeing me.

Coming April 30th: The Things I Buried Alive
This is not just a follow-up—it's a reckoning.
The Things I Buried Alive is a raw, intimate excavation of memory, grief, healing, and the quiet things we carry when no one is looking. Through poetry and prose, I dig into the things we were told to forget, the parts of ourselves we silenced, and what it means to unearth them.

If Soft Things Don't Last Here was a whisper, this one is a scream.

"Soft Things Don't Last Here" is out now.
This poetry memoir is my heart cracked open on the page—a collection of fifty poems and five letters that trace the journey of someone never taught how to be soft in a world that demands hardness.

It's about survival, identity, queerness, grief, and the quiet resilience that builds when nobody’s watching. These words came from the parts of me I used to hide, and I’m sharing them now in hopes they meet you where you are.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported this book. If it finds a home in your hands, I hope it also finds a home in your heart.

Soft things don’t always last here—but maybe, together, we can prove that sometimes they do.

Welcome, friends!
I’m so excited to officially launch this space as my author page—a place where words, stories, and a little bit of heart will live. Whether you’re here for poetry, fiction, personal reflections, or just curious, I’m truly grateful you’ve stopped by.

This is where I’ll share writing updates, behind-the-scenes glimpses, inspirations, and maybe a few thoughts that never quite make it into a book. I hope this space grows into a cozy little corner where creativity and connection can thrive.

Feel free to drop a hello in the comments and let me know what kind of stories or poems speak to you the most. I’d love to get to know you.

Here’s to new beginnings and the pages yet to be written.

Stay soft. Stay curious. Stay awhile.
