One of the simplest ways to change how a room feels is to add art.
Not because it fills space, but because it adds meaning. A home starts to feel abundant when it holds things that reflect curiosity, memory, and personality. Art brings those layers into a room without saying a word.
Sometimes a single artwork can shift the entire atmosphere of a space.

WIP. Another step closer to assembling the stone and bark pendant. I touched the high spots on the "bark" with a mixture of white and black alcohol inks (6:1). They thickened when I mixed them, almost to a gel which was perfect for adding gray highlights. I made some clay beads to go with them and am just about to assemble it into a found relic. I don't want to use chain or leather to hang it and satin isn't right. Not sure what to use. Waxed linen or cotton cord?

These four photos represent a test to create bark texture in polymer clay for a pendant I'm working on. They each have black and brown clay in various stages of being mixed together. Tom and I collected bark fragments that had been shed by trees during a hike in the woods. The bark was pressed into the clay and then baked. Which one do you think looks most like real bark? I'd like to repeat the test with black and gray clays too. I used the brown because that's what was in my stash when the inspiration hit me. LOL!
