Hi! I’m Avery! I’m an aviation, wildlife, and weather photographer based out of Fort Smith, AR.

One thing I’ve noticed after months of photographing aviation is that the American Flag tends to find its way into the frame.

Sometimes it’s carried in beneath a parachute.

Sometimes it’s folded in a cockpit.

Sometimes it’s flying quietly in the background.

And sometimes it’s in the hands of Flag Dave as he waves a flight in or out.

In honor of Flag Day, here are a few of my favorite moments featuring the Stars and Stripes. 🇺🇸

For those of you who don’t already know us, this will be a very fun introduction.

The Air Force has fighter squadrons.

We have Flag Dave, Vault, Corvette, Hitch, and Sunroof.

The airport staff have stopped asking why we’re here. 🤣✈️

First batch of airshow pics are here! I wish Facebook didn’t compress images. We made some great memories! On the way to St. Louis, I reflected on the last 6 months of my photography journey. I can’t say enough thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way ❤️

We had a blast at the airshow yesterday! Then, we took a trip to the St. Louis Zoo today. I’ve got about 700 photos to edit, but here’s some sneak peeks 😅🔥 Highly recommend Spirit Of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo. Everyone we talked to was so friendly and the show was amazing!

Here’s the first round of fun stuff from this week. Got a little something for everybody. Fighter jets, heavies, and a helicopter! 📷✈️

I’m still alive and well y’all! I had most of this week off work. Thus, I spent most of the week at the airport and now have a million photos to edit. Lots of good stuff coming soon! Happy Friday 🥳

I’m a few days late, but you’re gonna want to read this. On May 13, 1916, U.S. pilots flew their first combat sortie during the Battle of Verdun. The U.S. pilots, volunteers in the French Air Force, were known as the Escadrille Americaine (later becoming the Lafayette Escadrille). These pilots flew the Nieuport 11, a maneuverable but fragile biplane.
Only 5 days later, Kiffin Rockwell shot down a German reconnaissance plane in his Nieuport 11.

Our goal for this shoot was to capture two vastly different generations of fighter aircraft. The Nieuport 11 & The F-35a Lightning II.

How did we do?

It was fantastic to meet you Merl Potter! You have such a unique plane and it was so much fun to photograph it!
